The Atascosa County Fair is coming up on October 3rd and 4th at the Poteet Strawberry Festival Grounds and we will need some help on Thursday October 1, 2015 unloading panels and setting up display tables for the arts and crafts and baked item’s at the grounds starting around 6:00 p.m. We will also need individuals on Friday October 2, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. to finish setting up the arena and pens for the show Saturday and Sunday. Any assistance would greatly be appreciated! The Atascosa County Fair gives out scholarships across the county every year and this would be an excellent op-portunity to add leadership experience for scholarship applications. We will also need some young folks to help out on the days of the show and cleanup Sunday Evening so there are plenty of opportunities. If an individual would like to help at the Show on Saturday or Sunday please contact Dale Rankin, Ag Agent at the Extension office 830-769-3066. He will assign spots to assist on the day of the show. Remember, volunteer opportunities look good on scholarship applications and other award applications and recordbooks, here is a good opportunity!

The staff of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office– Atascosa County would like to sincerely apologize to Mrs. Bonner, Lytle 4-H Club Manager and all the wonderful 4-H Members in the group. We “Oops’ed” and omitted their banquet photo from the group photos (page 6) on the printed copy of the September 2015 newsletter. It was a most embarrassing oversight on our part. We hope you all know how much we value your involvement in our program. Again, our sincerest apologies!!
