DIARY

Day 1 – Monday, 11th May, 2009

At 10:30, we met at the bus station in Litvínov. We boarded the bus and at 10:48, we left for Hora sv. Kateřiny. We arrived at the Eurorellax hotelat 11:25, then we checked in.

We had lunch at 12:00 and after then, at 1:30 p.m., Mr. Petr Pakosta, the deputy mayor of Hora sv. Kateřiny, welcomed us and had a speech about history of the city.

Then we went for a walk at 2:00 p.m.

Unfortunately it was cancelled because of rain.

We had dinner at 6:00 p.m. After our dinner, we had activities with Kendra – the games “Big Buddie” and Switcharoo until 9:00 p.m. Because Kendra is a native American speaker all students enjoyed her games.

Then we had some free time and at 10 p.m. it was time to go to our rooms. We stayed in rooms which were very comfortable offering TV, a bathroom with a shower and also a wireless Internet connection.

Day 2 – Tuesday, 12th May, 2009

We got up at 7:30 am and we had breakfast at 8:00 am. Then we had the English classes with breaks till 1 pm. We had lunch at 1:10 pm.

After our lunch we had some free time and then we went to the Observation Tower at 2:30 pm.

Day 2 – Tuesday, 12th May, 2009

After that, our English teachers gave us tasks to fulfill - we had to prepare data for presentation about the town Hora sv. Kateřiny.

We were divided into five teams. Each team got a different task, for example, to find a history of the church, of the town etc.

Day 2 – Tuesday, 12th May, 2009

We had dinner after a short break at 6:00 p.m.

The things we had found out we orally presented at about 6:30 p.m. Our presentations were very interesting. We are going to prepare the rest of our presentations in Litvínov.

We saw a very nice English movie Loving Annabelle at 8:00 p.m. The film was with English (original) sound, it was good practice for us. We had to go to our rooms at 10:00 pm.

Day 3 – Wednesday, 13th May, 2009

We got up at 7:30 a.m. and we had breakfast at 8:00 a.m. Then we had English classes with breaks till 10:20 a.m. After our English classes we went for a bus at 11:20 which took us to Brandov, the last village in the Czech Republic on our way to a German museum. We had our lunch on the way at 12:00 a.m. Then we got to a museum on a foot.

After we had browsed a part of Olbernhau, a German town, we came back at 4:30 p.m. We had free time till 6:00 p.m. and then we had dinner.

Day 3 – Wednesday, 13th May, 2009

After activities with Kendra we went to prepare “The Ppath of Bravery”. Everyone went in pairs or in groups of three – after passing the Path everyone was very frightened. We finished the activity of “the path of bravery” at midnight. After that everyone went to own rooms and to bed.

Day 4 – Thursday, 14th May, 2009

We got up at 7:30 a.m. and for breakfast we had rolls with cheese and ham at 8:00 a.m. Then we had English classes with breaks till 1:00 p.m.

We had lunch at 1:30 p.m. After lunch we had a free time and then we worked on other projects.

We had dinner after a short break at 6:00 p.m. At 6:30 p.m. Kendra was showing her own presentation of the Czech Republic. This presentation was very interesting and after then she showed some photos.

After then we played hide-and-seek. We had to go to our rooms at 11:00 p.m.

Day 5 – Friday, 15th May, 2009

We got up at 7:30 a.m. and we had pancakes for breakfast at 8:00 am. We packed our things till 10:00 a.m. After then we played game with Kendra. Then, Mr. Laxa took Kendra to Litvínov.

Day 5 – Friday, 15th May, 2009

After they had left we played some games. Mr. Laxa came back for lunch. Jiří thanked the manager, Mrs. Lohaczová, for the top quality services provided by the hotel and gave her a bunch of flowers bought by our class and teachers. After seeing off the manager some of us signed the hotel guest book and then we went to the bus stop. The bus departed on time, we got off the bus in the centre of Litvínov at about 15:20. Everybody was full of impressions; this week was really full of English.
