1 Introduction InstallationThis information will guide you through the installation of astraia. For the installation you willneed:

astraia installation setup: .The setup is valid for network and standalone installations A runtime of is installed in the astraia installation folder. JavaSybase installation setup (for Sybase users): The installation of Sybase SQLAnywhere is dependent upon having purchased the required number of concurrentlicenses from astraia. Please note that this is the Authenticated Edition of SQL Anywhere,which will not work with any software other than astraia. We recommend to use the 64

for improved performance. This requires a 64-bit version of thebit version of Sybaseoperating system to be installed on the machine. On Windows you can find out if that isthe case by going to -> -> . If the customerSystem settings System System typedoes not have a 64-bit operating system, the 32 bit installer of Sybase needs to be usedbut the customer should consider upgrading their operating system (and the hardware, ifnecessary) to a 64-bit system.

You can download both the astraia setup and the Sybase SQL Anywhere setup from our:website

Go to the astraia website at .https://www.astraia.com/en/downloadsSelect (respectively) and loginDownloads for partners / Downloads for customerswith your username and password. If you do not have a user account for the astraiaweb-site, please register under https://www.astraia.com/en/downloads/registration.html.Click on the box with the currently available astraia setup file to start downloading thesetup (e.g. astraia 1.25.0).Save the setup file (e.g. astraia1.25.0.exe) in a temporary folder, e.g. on your desktop.

Important note for MS SQL users:

The installation and update procedures require temporarily for astraia elevated. The database user 'astraia' needs to have the permission 'ALTER ANYpermissions

LINKED SERVER', otherwise the update will fail with an error message. After theinstallation/update the permission can be revoked again.

2 Sybayse InstallationIf you have decided to use astraia with a Sybase database, the Sybase database needs to beinstalled before installing astraia. This is true for network and standalone installations. Fornetwork installations, it only needs to be installed on the server, not on the network clients.

Starting the installer

Download the Sybase installation file from the astraia website. Go to the directory where youhave downloaded the file. Start the Sybase Setup by double clicking on the msi file. Thesystem will ask you for the administrator password unless you are already logged in asadministrator. Confirm the welcome screen with .Next

Choose Location

Please choose the installation folder for Sybase SQL Anywhere 16. You can choose either thedefault folder or a different folder on the same drive where astraia is installed. Click Nextwhen finished.



Start copying files

Click on .Install

Finish Installation

When the setup is completed click .Finish



Please note: if you want to install a network with more than 10 concurrent users you willneed to upgrade the Sybase licenses after the Sybase installation (our default Sybase installerinstalls with a maximum of 10 concurrent users)!



3 astraia installationThe astraia setup file can be used for the following:

Network Server installation: This is the option to choose if you have bought at least 2licenses and would like to join these in a network if the program will be used by aORsingle user with DICOM image transfer. The network server setup is usually installed in aroot folder, such as , as the astraia directory must be shared for clients toC:\astraiaaccess it. A service manager is also installed, to control imaging, worklist and otherservices.Network Client installation: The client setup installs the Java runtime and creates ashortcut to astraia on the server.Standalone installation: This is the option to choose if you intend to use astraia onone computer only. The standalone version is usually installed in , and is aC:\astraiasingle-user system without imaging or any other services.Update a previous installation: This option is to choose if you want to update anastraia installation. For this process follow the instructions of the astraia Update manualwhich you can download from: .https://www.astraia.com/downloads

After the update process is completed, we ask you to send us the information. For this go toabout your installation Menu bar -> Help -> About.

Then click on button:Save

You will be asked where to save the file, save it e.g. on the desktop.Then please send this HTML file just created to . [email protected]

3.1 Installing the astraia network server

An astraia network installation must only be undertaken by or under supervisionof sufficiently trained and authorized personnel.An astraia network installation must be done on the designated network server.For security reasons, the astraia installation folder must be made read-only withtwo exceptions:

The folder must be accessible to all users for creating, reading.config

and writing. This is because each astraia client machine creates andupdates a file called astraia_XXXX.properties in the .config folder (whereXXXX is the client machine name); all astraia users have a similar file,named user_XXXX.properties.The folder must also be accessible to all users for creating, reading.logs

and writing because error reports are stored here.

For the next steps, a database must be installed. If you want to use Sybase, at least SybaseSQL Anywhere 16 must be installed. If you haven't done so already, you will need to install itnow, following the description in the chapter .Sybase installation

Installing astraia

Start the setup by on the astraia installation file you downloaded from ourdouble-clickingwebsite earlier.

First you will be asked to select the language to use during the installation. Select yourlanguage and click .OK

On the next screen, you will see which astraia version you are about to install.

Once you have pressed you will be asked to accept the license agreement shown in orderNextto continue the installation. Please have the customer read it carefully and choose I accept

if they agree. If they do not agree, please press to terminate thethe agreement Cancelinstallation.

On the next screen, the installation types are described. After having read it, press toNextcontinue.



On the next screen, please select . Press to continue.Network server installation Next

On the next screen, choose your preferred and press to language of the user manual Nextcontinue. A shortcut to this user manual will be placed on the desktop.



Now choose the installation directory. You can either accept the default path (recommended)or you can click on and select another directory.Browse...

Please specify how much memory should be available for the astraia program (128 MByte forthe program without image viewing, 512 MByte for the program with image viewing and 1024MByte for cine loops). Press to continue.Next



In the following screen you will be asked which database option you want to use. You canchoose between , or . Press toSybase Unicode MS SQL Server Oracle 10/11 Nextcontinue.

In case you have selected in the previous screen, the astraia installer offersSybase Unicodeto automatically set up the Sybase database service:



If you do not want this to happen, you can select and press Skip Sybase configuration Next, but this is not recommended.

We strongly recommend not to put the database file astraia.db into the installationpath, but . As theto pick an alternative non-shared astraia.db locationinstallation path needs to be shared with all clients, storing the database file astraia.dbthere would make it accessible to an unnecessarily large number of other computers(the astraia clients). Malicious software such as ransomware on a client would then beable to access the database file on the server and potentially do harm to your patientdata. Using an alternative location for the database file will reduce thenon-sharedexposure to potential threats.

Before starting the database service, just move the astraia.db file from the installationpath to your alternative location.

By clicking on , you can change the default values of the databaseAdvanced Propertiesconnection, which usually should not be necessary. The following screen appears, where youcan change the Database name, Port Number and Service Name:



Once you are done with selecting configuration options, press to continue.Next

Specify the name of the Start Menu folder for the astraia shortcuts.

On the following screen, you will see a summary of your selected options.



Press if all options are correct. The installer will now start to extract and copy allInstallnecessary files to your computer.



On the next screen you should be told that astraia has successfully been installed. Do notactivate the checkbox offering you to start astraia right after the installation since you will firsthave to either request a new network license or import a network license you already own, seebelow.If you selected earlier, which was not recommended, you willSkip Sybase configurationalso have to install a Sybase service.

Click on to end the installation.Finish

Licensing

Everytime you start astraia, the software will try to connect to the and lookLicense Serverfor a valid license. If no license is available or the License Server is not running, a message willappear, informing you that the program is unlicensed:

If you have an email client installed on your computer (for example Thunderbird, MicrosoftOutlook), a customized email will appear. Please fill in your contact details accordingly andsend this request email to [email protected]

Please the automatically identified numbers under "Hardware Addresses".do not modifyThese are read from the computer and are unique identifiers astraia needs to license yoursystem.



If no email client can be detected, the same information will appear in a text editor. If this alsofails to happen, you can still retrieve the information from a text file in your astraia folder, e.g.C:\astraia. Go to the subfolder and look for the file ..log license_request.txt

Please copy the content and send it to us. This can be done by an alternative mail client or byphone, letter or fax.When you have requested a license, astraia will send you the license via email. Save the

Importing the license

Once you have obtained your license, it needs to be imported into the system.

The network license only needs to be installed on the Network server and not on all individualastraia machines. The access rights for individual machines are handled by the network server.Licenses for network installations are imported via the .License Server

Open the by starting the application.Astraia Service Manager Astraia Services

Click the button of the . The following License Server ConfigurationConfigure License Serverwindow will appear:



Now you can import your license by clicking on the button.Import

A window will open. Browse to the folder where you have saved the license file. Select the fileand click on .Open



If the file contained a valid network license, it will be read and details such as expiry date willbe displayed. Press to go back to the Service Manager Screen and press the buttonOK Startin the License server line.

The license server is running now, but in order to allow clients to connect to the LicenseServer, from the outside Create the rules toports 11111 and 11112 must be reachable .allow these ports on your astraia server's Firewall and/or Antivirus if not already done . Theastraia server is now ready to be used.

Starting astraia

Important: Please note that the astraia application needs to be executed withadministrator rights in order to correctly update the configuration of the astraiaservices.

Now you may start the astraia application.

Confirm the warning concerning the localhost. If astraia asks whether you wish to create newdatabase fields, press . This may take a while.YesNow log in using username (default) and password .admin astraia

Open the and go to the tab . Modify the database URL: you specifyOptions Administratorthe name or IP address of the database server instead of 'localhost'.



Language

Set the : Open the and go to the tab . Select the preferredLanguage Options Appearancelanguage in the field .Language

Attention all users of Latvian language: Please, contact . It [email protected] that ALL customers wanting to use the Latvian language set the date formatvia a property to make the date format consistent.

Backup (for Sybase)

You must ensure that a backup of your database runs at least daily. Even if your server isbacked up to tape or DAT, the database file is 'live' and cannot be copied directly.

Open the by starting the application. Select Astraia Service Manager Astraia Services next to .Configure Database Backup

The following window appears:



Here you will need to specify the backup path of your database backup, the name of thedatabase (normally astraia) and the server name.Then choose how often you want to run a backup (we recommend at least daily) and when youwant to run it. If possible, the database backup should be done before the server backup.

Now press in order to test if the backup works. If it works, press .Run OKNow if you press in the Service Manager (a blue check should appear next to theStartservice), the backup service will be installed and run even after restarting the computer.



3.2 Installing an astraia network client

On each client on which astraia should run, the astraia network client needs to be installed. Inorder to do that, the astraia directory on the astraia server must be shared and the clientneeds to have read and write permissions.

Installing astraia


First you will be asked to select the language to use during the installation. Select yourlanguage and click .OK









On the next screen, please select . Press to continue.Network client installation Next





Please specify how much memory should be available for the astraia program (128 MByte forthe program without image viewing, 512 MByte for the program with image viewing and1024MByte for cine loops). Press to continue.Next

On the following screen, you will see a summary of your selected options. Press toInstallfinish the installation.

On the next screen you should be told that astraia has successfully been installed. Here youhave the possibility to start astraia directly after the installation by activating the checkbox.Click on to end the installation.Finish





3.3 Installing the astraia standalone version

For the next steps, a database must be installed. If you want to use Sybase, at least SybaseSQL Anywhere 16 must be installed. If you haven't done so already, you will need to install itnow, following the description in the chapter .Sybase installation

Installing astraia


First you will be asked to select the language to use during the installation. Select yourlanguage and click OK.

If you do not want this to happen, you can select and press Skip Sybase configuration Next, but this is not recommended.In most cases, you will just want to use the default database file from the installation path youchose earlier, but you can also specify an alternative location by selecting theastraia.dbcorresponding radiobutton and browsing for the location.

By clicking on , you can change the default values of the databaseAdvanced Propertiesconnection, which usually should not be necessary. The following screen appears, where youcan change the Database name, Port Number and Service Name:

Once you are done with selecting configuration options, press to continue.Next




On the following screen, you will see a summary of your selected options.

Press if all options are correct. The installer will now start to extract and copy allInstallnecessary files to your computer.



On the next screen you should be told that astraia has successfully been installed. Here youhave the possibility to start astraia directly after the installation by activating the checkbox.

If you use a Sybase database and selected earlier, Skip Sybase configuration do notactivate it since you will need to install the Sybase database service first.Otherwise the installation is complete now, so you can activate the checkbox and start astraiaif you wish.



Click on to end the installation.Finish

Licensing

When you start astraia after the installation the software will look for a valid license. If nolicense is available a message will appear, informing you that the program is unlicensed andthat you have three options:

If you have a valid license, you will receive confirmation that the license has been readsuccessfully. Press to proceed to the login screen.OK

If the license could not be read successfully, the window to import the license will appearagain. If this is the case please get in contact with your astraia support.

Starting astraia



Now you may start the astraia application.

If astraia asks whether you wish to create new database fields, press . This may take aYeswhile.Now log in using username (default) and password .admin astraia

Language

3.4 Sybase configuration (if required)

3.4.1 Sybase configuration - Standalone installation

Note: The following steps are if you selected only necessary Skip Sybase during installation which was not recommended. If you chose to let theconfiguration

installer do the configuration, the following steps are not necessary and you can startastraia without further setup.

Configuring Sybase for use with astraia Standalone installation

In order to install the Sybase database service, start Sybase Central. You can find it in the\BIN64 directory of your Sybase installation where it is called " " - if you havescjview.exechosen the default directory, the full path is "C:\Program Files\SQL Anywhere16\BIN64\scjview.exe". You can also go to - , type " " and confirm with Start Run scjview.exe

After having opened Sybase Central 16, doubleclick on .SQL Anywhere 16

In order to create the database service, go the the tab. Now right-click in the emptyServicesspace and select -> New Service...

Enter a database name, e.g. . Confirm the name with astraia Next.



Now select and continue with .Personal Database Server Next

If you have selected the default directory for your Sybase installation, you will not need tochange anything in the next window. In case you had changed the directory, you will need tomodify the path accordingly.



The parameters should be -ti 0 -n astraia -x tcpip{serverport=2638} (which is the normal installation path for astraia, check whether it is"c:\astraia\astraia.db"

Press to create the database service. You can start the service directly by activating theFinishcheckbox.



A lightning icon should appear in the taskbar - it indicates that the database service has beenstarted properly.

Sometimes the lightning symbol is not displayed. In order to check if the database service isrunning anyway, go to the and to the tab . There you can seeSybase Central Serviceswhether the astraia database service is running or not (indicated by either the green play- orthe red stop-symbol).

If you right-click on the database service, you can manually start or stop the service.



3.4.2 Sybase configuration - Network installation

Note: The following steps are if you selected only necessary Skip Sybase during installation which was not recommended. If you chose to let theconfiguration

installer do the configuration, the following steps are not necessary and you can startastraia without further setup.

Configuring Sybase for use with astraia Network installation

In order to install the Sybase database service, start Sybase Central. You can find it in the\BIN64 directory of your Sybase installation where it is called - if you havescjview.exechosen the default directory, the full path is "C:\Program Files\SQL Anywhere16\BIN64\scjview.exe". You can also go to -> , type and confirm with Start Run scjview.exe
