This precision CNC cut kit is perfect for the “Do It Yourself ” off road enthusiast who want to fabricate their own off road winch bumper for the 1st generation Grand Cherokee. We supply all the pre-cut and bent steel and you supply the welding, grinding and your own finishing touches!This bumper is made from 3/16’’ thick hot rolled steel to withstand the abuse of off road trails and rocks you might encounter.

Remove the plastic bumper skin from the vehicle.

Open up vertical oval holes in existing bumper sheet metal to make room for new brackets to slide into the uni-body.

Grind the edges smooth on the lip.

Insert Mounting Bracket (long) (2) and use Reinforcement Plate (3) on the outside of the body to sandwich sheet metal between the inside mounting bracket and reinforcement plates right and left.

Tack Triangle Mounting Brackets w/ Shackle Tab (Short) (1) and winch plate to Center Section (5) as shown.

Weld 1/2” shackle tabs (4) to inside of Triangle Mounting Brackets w/ Shackle Tab (Short) (1) and face of bumper to make 3/4” shackle mounting tab.

Weld Triangle Top Filler Plates (6) at 90 degrees to the Center Section (5) front lip.

Remove bumper from vehicle to finish welding Winch Plate (6).

ATTENTION: REVIEW INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE INSTALLING 93-98 ZJ FRONT BUMPER KIT

Test Fit center section and mounting brackets to vehicle without the wings and make any adjustments needed.

Weld the Front Wing Section (8), Top Filler Panel (9), Bottom Wing Triangle Section (10), Side Wing Filler Plate (11), and Wing End Cap (12) to form the wing assemblies.

Mate the wing sections to align with the center section.

Bolt the bumper to the vehicle with wing sections attached to the center section.

TEST FIT

(The best way is to lay the part upside-down on a flat metal table.)

Once all tacked up, you may begin welding 6-8 inches at a time.
