Aspen Treatises Find a New Home on Fastcase
It’s Renewal Season!
When Fastcase acquired Loislaw last September, it gained the exclusive rights to the electronic Aspen treatise collection that had been the centerpiece of Loislaw’s re-source platform. All 100+ online titles officially migrated to Fastcase at the end of November, and while the breadth of the collection hasn’t changed, the way that individuals access and search the collection is a little different.
New Access Instructions: After clicking on the Fastcase desktop icon, select “Search Loislaw Libraries” from the left-hand menu on the main page. Users will be redirected to a list of subject areas. Click the plus buttons next to each subject area to view availa-ble titles. The treatises are available on any computer on the Stark County net-work, including the library’s public computers.
New Search & Browse Instructions: Users can enter keyword terms into the search bar at the top of the treatise library page to collectively search the full text of all the titles or use the check boxes next to the titles in each subject area
2015 library subscribers will receive their 2016 renewal invoices the week of January 4. The fee for private practice subscribers remains unchanged at $40. Selecting a title will open a cascading menu of that trea-tise’s chapters , sections, and indices. Several printed lists of all the titles included in the As-pen treatise collection are available in the public com-puter room . If you need assistance, just inquire at the circulation desk.

Wall, an author and insurance attorney from Florida who has generously donated several of his books to the Stark County Law Library, is seeking a profession-al peer review of his recent ABA publica-tion: Lender Force-Placed Insurance Practices: A Guide for Plaintiff, Defense, Insurance and Corporate Counseling and Litigating Claims
and Defenses. The preface and a sample chapter of Mr. Wall’s book is available on the ABA website: http://shop.americanbar.org/eBus/Store/ProductDetails.aspx?productId=186120208. The review should adhere to the AALL Spectrum blog book re-view guidelines (found here: http://www.aallnet.org/mm/Publications/spectrum/book-review-guide), and the pro-spective reviewer should plan to submit the finished piece to the Spectrum blog for possible publication. Interested attorneys should e-mail [email protected] so arrangements can be made for a review copy of the book to be sent to the law library.
