HELPFUL HINTS

SAVE MONEYOrder early on FreemanOnline to take advantage of advance order discount rates, place your order by OCTOBER 24, 2019.

AVOID DELAYShip early to avoid delays. Shipments arriving late at show site will cost you money, time and business!

SAFETY TIPSUse a ladder, not a chair. Standing on chairs, tables and other rental furniture is unsafe and can cause injury to you or to others. These objects are not designed to support your standing weight.

Be aware of your surroundings. You are in an active work area with changing conditions during move-in and move-out. Pay attention. Look for obstacles, machinery and equipment that are in use.

Keep your eyes open for scooters and forklifts. The drivers of these vehicles may not be able to see you.

Stay clear of dock areas, trucks and trailers. These areas can be particularly dangerous.

Prevent electrical shocks, falling items and damage to materials. Do not attach items or equipment to the drapes or metal framework provided for your booth. This can cause serious injury or damage to materials.

We discourage children from being in the exhibit hall during installation and dismantle. If children are present during installation and dismantle, they must be supervised by an adult at all times.

Freeman does not ship or handle Hazardous Materials. If any materials you are shipping to the event fall into this category, please contact Freeman to be sure the material will be allowed at the facility and by the association. In addition, if authorized by the facility and the association, you will need to make separate arrangements for the transport and handling of the approved materials, since Freeman will not transport or handle them.

The operation or use of all motorized lifts and motorized material handling equipment for installation/dismantle of exhibits is NOT permitted by exhibitors or by their exhibitor appointed contractors (EAC’s). Thank you for your cooperation.

The ASLA Mission, Vision, Values, Culture, and Expectations for Our Organizational Partners

Founded in 1899, the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) is the national professional association for landscape architects, representing more than 15,000 members in 49 professional chapters and 82 student chapters. Landscape architects lead the stewardship, planning, and design of the built and natural environments. Landscape architects plan livable communities that foster active lifestyles, design green streets that manage stormwater runoff, plan cutting-edge transportation corridors that are safe for all users, and help communities prepare for and recover from natural disasters. Landscape architecture includes both iconic and neighborhood places, including commercial developments, downtown streetscapes, green roofs, parks, civic spaces, memorials, and residential communities. The Society’s mission is to advance landscape architecture through advocacy, communication, education, and fellowship. The Society’s vision is leading the design and stewardship of land and communities.

Sustainability, or stewardship of the land, has been part of ASLA’s mission since its founding and is anoverarching value that informs all of the Society’s programs and operations. ASLA has been a leader in demonstrating the benefits of green infrastructure and resilient development practices through the creation of its own green roof, co-development of the SITES® Rating System, and the creation of publicly accessible sustainable design resources. In keeping with that mission and history, the recently completed renovation of the ASLA Headquarters was designed to achieve LEED Platinum and WELL Silver. Renamed the ASLA Center for Landscape Architecture, the building embodies the mission, vision, and values of the Society. Landscape architecture is integrated and represented throughout the building, from the green roof to the courtyard to the planned green street, and includes capture and reuse of stormwater runoff, as well as exterior green walls. The building design also maximizes daylight within the space; increases occupant comfort and wellness; provides flexible, collaborative work spaces; and models energy conservation and environmental values.

In addition to stewardship, ASLA’s organizational values are dedication, excellence, integrity, and leadership. The ASLA culture is collaborative, member-focused, accountable, responsible, and volunteer-supported.

ASLA organizational partners and service/product suppliers are expected to demonstrate and support the ASLA values and culture. Performance requirements include commitment to and documentation of sustainable practices.
