Dear ladies and gentlemen, The International Forum of the European Youth Parliament-Ukraine “Agora on Security Kyiv” (a.k.a. ASK 2014), will be held between 1st and 9th November 2014 in Kyiv and will focus on international and European security under the umbrella topic: Re:think security policy and hack old paradigms. The International Youth NGO - the European Youth Parliament-Ukraine is delighted to launch an open call for 10 Moderators, 1 Trainer and 1 or 2 Media Coordinators, who will help Martin Hoffmann, the ASK 2014 President, and the organising team to make this event unforgettable for everyone involved! The event is organised in cooperation with the Berlin-based Schwarzkopf Foundation, the international umbrella organisation of the European Youth Parliament (EYP). ASK 2014 is financially supported by the Council of Europe’s European Youth Foundation. The organising team is currently waiting for the grant re- sults from the German Federal Foreign Office. The Agora on Security Kyiv 2014 will provide an open forum that will allow the participants to analyse po- litical patterns that govern international security, understand their flaws and advantages and develop new strategies for collaboration in international security. ASK aims to leave an impact on its participants and the wider world. Breaking old patterns, its final results will have a more strategic approach, aiming to envision security from various perspectives. The team of ASK moderators will work in a flat hierarchy surrounding, based on strength-supporting mechanisms. Each member of the team will be joining in fully, and not only participate, but also to contribute what they are best in. The moderators are asked to come open-minded and supportive for both the event and all other involved team members. You, as an ASK moderator, will participate intensively in the preparation process, the pre- event meetings and the event itself. What is more important, all ASK moderators will have to gather expertise in the topic they will be dealing with. The ASK trainer will be involved in all steps of the content preparation of the Moderators Academic Training (MAT), which will take place in Berlin on September 19-21. Moreover, the Trainer will be assisting the Pres- ident in enhancement of the educational experience for all the participants during the event in November. The ASK Media Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the work of the Media Team, which will be involved in providing media coverage of the event for internal and external audience, producing various media products, such as articles, press-releases, videos, blogs, interviews, infographics etc.

All those, who are available and interested in becoming a moderator, media coordinator as well as all those, passionate about and experienced in trainings are invited to apply by filling in the application form and sub-mitting their applications via THIS LINK. The deadline for applications is on the 23rd of August 2014 at 23.59 CET. Late applications won’t be ac-cepted and considered. The selection will begin once the application deadline is over. All applicants will be informed individually of the outcome of their application as soon as the selection is complete.

There is no participation fee for moderators, trainer and the media coordinator. Please note that the organ-ising team is working on ensuring sufficient funding to allow travel reimbursement for your round trip to Kyiv. Please keep in mind that all the moderators will be asked to arrive on the 1st of November. Departures can start from the morning on the 9th of November.

Additionally, please note that in preparation for the event, all the moderators are required to attend the Moderators Academic Training (MAT), which will take place on 19-21 September in Berlin and will bring together not only moderators, but also organisers and experts on security. Attendance of the MAT is an inte-gral part of all moderators’ responsibilities and expenses for the meeting will be covered by the International Office of the European Youth Parliament.
