Asia’s Top Fashion Fairs to Feature International Designers Media Preview for Hong Kong Fashion Week and World Boutique

28 December 2012 – Top international fashion talent will be on hand for Asia’s largest

fashion event, the HKTDC Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter. The fair, held

concurrently with the HKTDC World Boutique, Hong Kong, runs 14-17 January at the Hong

Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Both events are organised by the Hong Kong Trade

Development Council (HKTDC).

To promote Hong Kong’s role as a regional fashion hub and lifestyle trendsetter, this year the

HKTDC will launch a month-long city-wide promotion “Hong Kong in Fashion” from 3-23

January connected to the two fairs. The promotion features numerous activities, including the

Street Snap Competition, “Stage of Glamour” Display at Times Square and Coffee x Fashion.

Fair highlights will include the Hong Kong Fashion Extravaganza, featuring celebrated fashion

designers from Europe and Asia: Hong Kong’s Johanna Ho, Beijing’s Chi Zhang, London’s

Holly Fulton and Paris’ designer duo Nana Aganovich and Brooke Taylor.

The Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers' Contest will showcase a new generation of Hong

Kong design talent. This year, Marc Ascoli will be the VIP judge. Mr Ascoli has more than 30

years of fashion experience, filling multiple roles such as an artistic director for photographers

and graphic designers, an image consultant as well as an art, image and creative director for

several famous brands. He will join chief judge Shirley Chan JP, Chairman of HKTDC

Garment Advisory, and Hong Kong designer Hidy Ng on the judging panel.

Highlights will also include other fashion shows, as well as parades, seminars and networking
