BeginningApproved by Accounting & Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) of Singapore, the Asian Photovoltaic Industry Association (APVIA) was founded in January 16, 2009 as a non-profit social organization, consisting of PV enterprises, scientific institutions and other relevant organizations in the Asian countries.

2011LaunchedAfter 2 years of planning & preparation, APVIA was successfully launched on 31st
October, 2011 in Singapore during the Singapore International Energy Week.
2017
Growing & ProgressingThe general election and the 1st general meeting of the 3rd council has been successfully held in October, 2016 in Singapore. And the 2nd general meeting of the 3rd council was also held fruitfully in April, 2017 in Shanghai.
• promote best of class PV systems & installations Standards
• provide a platform for members, funders, multilateral agencies and governments to discuss, debate, collaborate, on issues, projects, policies etc. to allow solar PV technology and systems to proliferate throughout Asia.

Asian Photovoltaic Industry Association (APVIA) has devoted itself to promoting the development of PV industry worldwide, especially in Asia, including China, India, as well as those fast-growing solar markets in Southeast and Central &West Asia. APVIA has attracted industrial associations, research institutes, PV companies from different countries and regions in Asia & the Pacific, such as China (including Taiwan and Hong Kong), India, Korea, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Turkey, Saudi Arab, Israel, etc. to be members of APVIA

• Since January 2016, APVIA started to make preparations for the setting-up of a media committee. On 30 March 2016 at SNEC2016 APVIA, through a press release, officially announced the proposed launching of the Media Committee of APVIA.
• During 22-24 May 2016, held talks with media to formalise this relationship.
• On 28 Oct. 2016, APVIA Media Meeting was held in Suzhou GCL Energy Center. During the trial period, APVIA arranged for the media to make two group interviews, 1) the Innovative project of "Smart PV + Technological Agriculture. "of Suzhou Talesun Solar Technologies Co., Ltd. and 2) the Ginlong New 4G Technology Platform of Ningbo Ginlong Technologies Co.,Ltd.
• On January 11th, 2017, the 1st official meeting of the APVIA Media Committee was
successfully held in the newly established GCL Sunshine Experience Showroom.
• Currently, Online Platform of the Media Committee is open to all Media and corporate correspondents.

APVIA Media Committee aims to promote the sustainable development of APVIA associations, companies, media of new energy industry in China, Asia, and the Pacific and:
• Provide latest policy and regulations by governments of Asian countries so that APVIA members are kept current prior to developing PV projects in these countries.
• Provide information and the latest advancements and progress on PV scientific research developments and technologies globally & within the Asian region.
• Provide case studies on PV installations (successes & failures) regionally and globally to provide APVIA corporate members with the latest updates
• Provide news on new project being awarded regionally and globally and tenders being called so that APVIA members can participate on a timely basis.

Market Report
• The MR aims to cover the Asian markets (primary markets) including other global markets (secondary markets). We encourage those who can provide market data and information to provide and share this with the APVIA Sec. We can then consolidate this information which will benefit each country that contributes, as investors and developers will be attracted to markets that are active with projects.
• Since January, 2017, APVIA has produced eleven Newsletters, distributed to more than 60,000 on our mailing list, targeting all members and potential members, in order to convey and deliver the latest market and industrial news, policy trends, technology advancements , etc.

• APVIA has already initiated the member recruitment project. We also welcome all associations as members of the APVIA Steering Committee to collaborate and work together with us to grow and strengthen APVIA as the strongest PV Association in the World ie help us get more members. Being strong means all other corporations and associations outside of Asia will want to work and collaborate with us—this means more contacts and more biz.
