Walanmarra Gundyarri Schools Cultural Day On Thursday 26th of October, NRL Game Development together with Wagga Wagga City Council will be hosting the inaugural Walanmarra Gundyarri Schools Cultural Day at Bolton Park. Years 5 & 6 will be attending. A group of Year 6 students from our school will also be performing a cultural dance for the crowd and leading dance workshops. It brings together senior students to participate in cultural learning through workshops such as Indigenous Language, Traditional Aboriginal Games, Ancient Artefacts, Dance & Movement, as well as NRL skill activities. The community is welcome to attend. Please return the permission money and note to the school as soon as possible. Russ the School Story Bus The colourful travelling library bus visited today and some students from Year 3-6 visited. Each student got to take a book home with them. P&C Ninja Colour Run The P&C have been designing the course for the Colour Run and they are asking for as many parents as possible to volunteer to help on the day by manning an obstacle station. The Run will go from 12pm-2pm, so not much of your time is needed but it would be very much appreciated. If you have any capacity to help on the day, please let the school know so your details can be passed onto the P&C members. Also if any parents have pool noodles, bouncing balls or tunnels at home they would like to donate to the Run that would be awesome too. Ashmont Public School Bulletin To Dream. To Inspire. Messages for our parents Attendance – Week 2 – Term 4 Congratulations to Hayley Fox for winning the individual attendance award for perfect attendance in Week 2. Also congratulations to KRed and 3Purple for having the best class attendance last week with only 11 absences each.

The overall attendance showed slight improvement for the first week of term. This data is just for a one week period. Please let us work together to improve attendance, which in turn improves the learning and social outcomes of all our students. Students with 100% attendance at the end of the term will attend the 100% Attendance Party.

Lunchbox News Have you looked inside your child’s lunchbox lately? Single use plastic bags, cling wrap, disposable utensils, plastic straws, chip packets, single-serve cheese dips… that’s a lot of waste, and it’s all lurking in the humble lunchbox. Reconsider how to pack a healthier lunch in a fun way without so much waste.

Tell Them from Me Surveys Thank you to the ninety-two parents who responded to the parent survey this year. The survey is based on a comprehensive questionnaire covering several aspects of parents' perceptions of their children's experiences at home and school. It was the biggest response we have had and it gives the school valuable feedback for future action. Each week we will share results with the school community and invite further feedback and suggestions.
