    Parking

    Parking lots in and around Seattle Center get crowded. Taking a car share, taxi, or public transportation is definitely the way to go, then you wont have to wait to get out of a parking garage or drive home after drinking.*

    This garage is the best option for parking if you absolutely must drive.*

    Upon entrance, go through coat check, then registration. Please stop to have your photo taken before heading to the bar. The layout is basically a room (made of freestanding gallery walls) built within a larger room. There are three silent auction sections and a live auction section. The night consists of two distinct parts:5:00-7:30 PM: Curator tour followed by silent auctions, cocktails and passed hors doeurves. Guests walk around to view and bid on items.7:30 PM-9:30 PM: Live auction with seated dinner. Art is displayed by art handlers on the central runway and the auctioneer leads bidding.

  • Timing Arrive at 5! Find the art docent in your section and introduce yourself Mingle until your silent section ends, then go support artists in other sections!

    It is important to find where your piece is located in the room in order to introduce yourself to the docent(s) in your section. The docents are trained to assist in making introductions between artists and patrons who may be showing interest in their piece (contingent on timing and vicinity, of course).

    To determine where your item is located in the room, use the catalog you receive at registration. Note: the item number given to your piece is different than your bid number! Live= items 1-38Silent 1= items 101-133Silent 2= items 201-235Silent 3= items 301-344 *

    *The range of people at the auction is WIDE. Keep that in mind when chattingany given guest may be an art expert, but its just as likely that they know nothing! Stay limber.

    Taking into account the wide range of guests, be sure to stay curious about people. That is the most surefire way to keep the conversation lively. A simple, What brings you here? may elicit a great conversation about their connectionsor lack of connectionsto Artist Trust, and therefore your commonalities and differences.

    The buddy system: a great way to meet new people. Team up with someone you know and introduce one another to each others contacts.

    Dont forget to ask for help with introductions from docents, but also board members (theyll have special tags), Artist Trust staff, and other artists you know.

    Keep your business cards handy in case you make a connection for the future. You can stick a few in the plastic sleeve behind your name tag.

    Be sure your website is updatedyou dont want to send anyone to check out your work on a website that isnt yet built or totally out of date!*
