WINNIPEG ARTISTS ANDY DESJARLAIS TRIBUTE Performed by Patti Kusturok At the forefront of North America’s fiddling scene, Patti Kusturok is one of Manitoba’s most recognized for mastering her craft. She’s not only the first woman and Western Canadian to claim the Grand Masters Fiddling Championship, but Patti’s also held the prestigious title: three times in a row. Her performance, a tribute to Andy Desjarlais will prompt toes to tap, hands to clap, and smiles to spread on faces all around. BRETT KISSEL Brett Kissel gets a crowd moving and is an award-winning Canadian country star from Flat Lake, Alberta. For more than a decade, concertgoers and country jamboree fans have been singing and clapping along to his feel- good hits. The fresh-faced singer-songwriter also has a knack for penning catchy tunes, and his exhilarating performances always leave fans energized. Brett’s talent is backed by a loyal following - and he is only in his twenties! Brett Kissel teams up with Don Amero to produce and perform a momentous one-off collaboration to captivate all. DON AMERO Don Amero charms audiences with his compelling, harmonious voice combined with percussion-style guitar play and captivating storytelling. A well-known Winnipegger, he’s toured coast-to-coast, performed on the festival circuit, accompanied the symphony, and appeared on national television. Four albums have amassed him national and international nods and nominations, including the 2013 JUNO Awards. Leaving his long-time career as a hardwood flooring installer was likely a brilliant move.

  • FEDERAL LIGHTS Winnipeggers at heart, Federal Lights are a crew of four. Formed in 2010, their brand of alternative pop was released on a full-length album in 2013 and titled We Were Found in The Fog. Following their debut release, they won the Aboriginal Recording of the Year at the 2014 Western Canadian Music Awards. Not looking back - Federal Lights has toured across Canada and internationally to Europe.

    LIGHTNINGCLOUD Crystle Lightning and MC RedCloud are a duo based out of Los Angeles, who mix West Coast hip hop and electronic trap. Their self-titled album won them a 2012 Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Award for Best Rap/ Hip Hop CD, and, in 2013, they won Best New Artist. Get ready for their sounds and energy from the underground.

    MARIJOSE A flourishing Mtis musician from Winnipeg, marijose pens lyrics that originate from the pages of her diary. And her playful approach to melodies is formed with a dynamic, alluring voice backed by Franco-pop and jazzed up world beats. At last years Western Canadian Music Awards, marijoses latest release, Pas tout cuit dans lbec, garnered Francophone Recording of the Year.

    MIKE BONE Brothers who are a hip hop duo from Oklahoma City. Theyve performed on Americas Got Talent, and their hit song Rain Dance exploded across the United States of America. Beyond hip hop, both are inspirational speakers and graphic artists. They may be short in stature, but have larger than life personalities with their excellent ability to independently garner publicity. Mike Bone are more than beatmakers.

  • SHAYNE AND TAYLOR MAY Shayne and Taylor May, two sisters from the Wikwemikong Unceded First Nation on Manitoulin Island, released their first single Drowning in October 2014. The song was written as part of The Music Business program offered at their high school, and in collaboration with Coalition Music and TEMPO (Through Education and Entrepreneurship Music Provides Opportunity). Ashley Buchholz, lead singer and guitarist of Toronto-based USS, produced Shayne and Taylors first commercial release after being given the opportunity to workshop with their class.
