WHETHER YOU ARE AGENT OR NOT, YOU HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT A KIMMI DOLL IS. KIMMI DOLLS AND BASICALLY SMALL FIGURES WITH AN ORGANIC SHAPE, THAT IS MADE OF WOOD, PAINTED IN SIMPLE ARTISTIC STYLE WITH DIFFERENT BRIGHT REPRESENTA-TIVE COLORS, AND FINALLY COV-ERED BY LAYERS OF WAX.

KIMMI DOLLS ARE ORIGINAL-LY INSPIRED BY THE JAPA-NESE “KOKEI-SHI DOLLS”, WHICH ARE

TRADITIONAL HANDMADE WOODEN DOLLS. THEY WERE ORIGINALLY HANDCRAFTED BY PEASANT FARM-ERS AND GIVEN AWAY AS SYMBOLS OF LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP. THE PHILOSOPHY BEHIND THE FORMA-TION OF THE KIMMIDOLL™ BRAND IS ”BESTOWING” LUCK AND GOOD FORTUNE UPON FRIENDS AND FAM-ILY.THE KIMMI DOLLS ARE BEING MAID BY KIMMI DOLL™ BRAND, WHICH FOLLOWS AN ELEGANT DECORATIVE GIFT AND HOME-WARE ITEMS IN-SPIRED BY EASTERN CULTURE AND EACH DESIGN AIMS TO ACHIEVE A BALANCE BETWEEN THE TWO CUL-TURES. KIMMI DOLLS ARE AVAIL-ABLE IN A RANGE OF CHARACTERS, AS EACH CARRIES A SPECIFIC MES-SAGE. KIMMIDOLL™ IS A FAMILY OF CONTEMPORARY DOLL CHARAC-TERS; EACH LOVINGLY DESIGNED TO REPRESENT “LIFE’S TRUE VAL-UES”. THE DESIGN IS BASED ON A COMBINATION OF TRADITIONAL AND MODERN CREATIVE SENSIBILITY. YET, THERE IS ONE PHILOSOPHY THAT ALL THE KIMMI DOLL™ SHARE,

[ARTWORK_ARTIST BACKGROUNG RESEARCH]

WHICH IS CELEBRATING IMPORT-ANT VALUES IN LIFE’S JOURNEY SUCH AS KINDNESS, HAPPINESS, JOY AND RESPECT, …ETC. KIMMI DOLLS ORGANIC DESIGN PHILOS-OPHY IS INSPIRED BY THE BEAU-TY OF NATURE AND THE WORLD AROUND US, AS WELL AS THE IN-SPIRATIONAL VALUES THAT EACH DOLL REPRESENTS. THE GRAPH-ICS OF THE KIMMI DOLLS IS IN-SPIRED BY CONTEMPORARY WEST-ERN ARTWORK SYMBOLISM.

{IMITATION O THE ART WORK}

The imitation is based on four main aspects, which are the features, Medi-ums, style, and the mes-sage. My aim in the im-itation is to use these analyze these aspects, and be able to transfer it in a 100% traditional Emira-ti dolls. Firstly, I ana-lyzed the features of the doll. I changed the Japa-nese eyes, small pink lips, short black hair, and the Kimono dress to the lashed eyes, reddish lips, long black hair, and the tra-ditional “Jalabeya” as the dress. Secondly, I went through a research to find out what are they made of, and found that it’s made of wood, paint and lay-ers of wax. Yet, my ver-sion of the artwork is a digital one –for now-; and that is because I want to print it in different ob-jects such as t-shirts,

notebook, iPhone and lap-top cases …etc. Thirdly, I looked through the style. The original Kimmidolls design represents a bal-anced inspiration from the Eastern style and the Jap-anese style. Yet, my ver-sion is to be a totally traditional style with lo-cal characters. The last aspect that I went through is the concept and the mes-sage of this piece of art. The Kimmidolls shares and celebrates the life val-ues such as: love, peace friendship …etc. Where-as my local version doll celebrates the distinctive characters of the locals.
