ART PROPOSAL GALAXY

Galaxy is a celestial sculpture inspired by our collective imagination surrounding the cosmos. As the sun sets, the night sky activates the Galaxy as a meditative current of light and color. Galaxy reimagines Arena Green of San Jose as a flow of energy and awe, enticing audiences to reflect on the present moment within our universal existence. Galaxy is forward thinking, emulating the maverick spirit that drives Silicon Valley to explore and expand humankind beyond our world, into the exciting unknown.

CONCEPT

Galaxy is an experiential artwork that aims to create a sense of place and universal belonging. Measuring at approximately 300 ft long and 100 ft high, Galaxy is a colossal sculpture situated within the booming San Jose landscape. The sculpture utilizes Dichroic Glass and stainless steel, enabling the artwork to shine and shimmer both during the day and at night. The material gives an iridescent effect, simulating a glimmering, starry night sky.
