Facts:• Population: 40,913,584 (2009 estimate)• Capitol: Buenos Aires• Currency: Argentine Peso• Major Religion: Roman Catholic• Argentina is the 8th largest country in the

world.

Tangible: Food

• Argentina’s national dish is beef.

Tangible: Clothing

• Argentineans enjoy to wear loose gaucho clothing usually consisting of a straw hat, a

poncho, and loose gaucho pants tucked into boots.

Tangible: Art

• People in Argentina thoroughly enjoy art. The most popular style of art work is watercolor.

Intangible: Entertainment

• Argentineans love to dance! Buenos Aires, the capitol is the birthplace of the tango.

Intangible: Education

• In Argentina all children between the ages of six and fourteen have to go to school, by law.

• Free education is available to anyone with a literacy rate over 95%.

• The percentage of individuals attending and completing university degree programs is 3.2% of the population, the second highest in the world behind France.

Intangible: Festivals

• Argentineans are all about having fun and celebrations. This spirit has lead to be known world wide for their up-beat festivals.

• They hold all different types such as dance festivals, carnivals, and those to celebrate holidays.

Effects of the Environment

• Argentina is currently facing many environmental issues typical for an

industrializing economy such as: deforestation air pollution

water pollution acid rain

• Argentina is the world leader in setting voluntary greenhouse gas targets.
