• 2018-2019 is a nonconsequential year for the CalAPA
• This means that students beginning our program in Fall 2018 must take the CalAPA, but they do not have to pass it
• Students who begin our program in Fall 2018 must complete all 3 cycles of the CalAPA in order to be recommended for a credential
• If students do not complete 1 cycle by September 26, 2019 and all 3 cycles by December 31, 2020 they must take AND pass the CalAPA
• It’s a good time to get a credential! Students beginning our program in Fall 2019 or later will have to take AND pass the CalAPA
• The CCTC is currently collecting data from a field test of the CalAPA, and the final version will be released in August
• There are 3 cycles, and preparation for these cycles will occur in coursework (EDAD 677A, EDAD677B, EDAD544)
• More information about the CalAPA can be found here: http://www.ctcpa.nesinc.com/TestView.aspx?f=HTML_FRAG/CalAPA_AboutPage.html
