2016 Program HighlightsGlobal Water Resources is a complex and challenging theme. Issues range from preservation of water resources, sanitation, industrial use to personal responsibility and historical rights, customs and laws.
• Look at Water from many points of view.
• Field trips to Lake Michigan, the Great Lakes Water Consortium and Companies that focus on water.
• Work with fellow delegates to define issues and problem areas related to water.
• Discover what you can do to make the world a better place.
• Explore how traditional roles and new opportunities come together as international society adjusts to the water needs of the future.
• How are existing social systems affected?
• What part does individual personal behavior play?
The 2016 World Affairs Seminar will include experts sharing insights and views ranging from cutting edge science to centuries old traditions. Your role is to distill information, identify priorities and develop skills to both lead and collaborate with others from different cultures to reach conclusions.
The World Affairs Seminar is a life-changing experience. Since 1976 WAS has touched and changed lives, providing skills in group problem-solving, negotiation and interaction in the belief that WAS will prepare you to make a difference when you inherit the world.

This Seminar is For U.S. & International Students who:• Are between the ages of 16 -18.
• Have completed their sophomore, junior, or senior year in high school.
• Are in good academic standing.
• Are interested in global issues and building a strong portfolio for college and future careers.
Application Deadline May 25, 2016
• Early Bird payments received by February 28, receive a $50.00 discount.
Fees (all fees in U.S. dollars)
• Domestic: $680 (U.S. and Canadian attendees).
• International: $580 (Includes international exchange program students studying in a “domestic” high school).
• Sponsors who send four or more students receive an additional $50 discount per student.
