welCome to Peter PAn
A tale of adventure, discovery and dreams, join us on our journey to Neverland…
Wendy and her two brothers, Michael and John leave their home in London on an adventure filled with laughter, swordfights, crocodiles, mermaids, pirates, fairies and much more. Piers Chater-Robinson’s version of Peter Pan uses a brilliant mix of dance, song and theatre to tell the tale of the boy who wouldn’t grow up.
This year we are thrilled to be presenting Peter Pan, showcasing the students’ dedication and the overwhelming support from the Aranmore Community. This production would simply not come alive without the wonderful, creative and inspiring cast, crew, production staff and community volunteers. These talented individuals have worked relentlessly over the past months to bring to you this adaptation from the book by J.M.Barrie.
I must acknowledge with great pride the brilliant cast that I have been so blessed to work with on this show. Not only have I watched these students grow in their performance skills, confidence and self-awareness, I have also watched them grow as individuals and flourish as a team. Finally, a huge thank you to Ruby Hindley for her continuous support and for acting as my idea bouncing board throughout the production. She is simply a joy to work with and I’m so delighted to have such a great colleague and friend.
Being part of a whole school production is more than just the final product you see today, it is about the journey of playful, energetic, creative students and teachers coming together to bring to life something magical.
All children grow up,except one.

It has been a great pleasure rehearsing ‘Peter Pan’ with such an enthusiastic cast. Since the first rehearsals, the entire cast and band have displayed such growth, not just in their musical ability but as performers; each week becoming more and more confident.
The challenge of singing, dancing and acting all at the same time is difficult, even for the most experienced professionals and the students at Aranmore have done this very well. The orchestration is extremely challenging, with wide ranges, difficult keys and a great range of stamina required to play the songs continuously as required.
The band, ranging from students in Years 8–11 as well as ex-students and music tutors, have shown a great deal of dedication and I have been continually impressed with their motivation and commitment.
Despite ‘Peter Pan’ being largely unknown as a musical, the songs are very catchy and at times, even poignant. Tonight, I hope the sense of imagination has reminded you of your dreams and that you ‘gotta believe’ in order to make a change, particularly in today’s society.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all who have collaborated and assisted with the production of ‘Peter Pan’. Congratulations to all!
