Sheikh Faisal writes detailed report about the place

KUWAIT CITY, May 5: The Governor of Far-waniya Sheikh Faisal Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah recently revealed the most sensitive fi le in Al-Farwaniya Gover-norate, affi rming Jleeb Al-Shoyukh area is not worth describing as a suitable place for human habitation, re-ports Al-Rai daily.

In an interview with the daily, Governor Sheikh Faisal stressed that seriousness is part of his personality and the truth is paramount in his mind. He said the statement he made about the area is the least he could say about the place he visited for an in-depth assessment to deter-mine ways of dealing with the situation.

He revealed that he wrote a de-tailed report about the place and the problems therein, and even proffered solutions that require courageous and drastic decisions based on extensive factual stud-ies for the benefi t of the home-land and citizens, noting “the decision comes with more coop-eration between the government and the people in order to resolve the issue”, he stated.

As he aspires to see Farwani-ya Governorate in fi rst place in all services provided to people, Sheikh Faisal revealed a plan of action to implement many pro-grams to serve residents in the areas of health, traffi c and educa-tion, and evaluation of the level of performance and identifying the weaknesses and shortcom-ings in the performance of the executive bodies in the governo-rate. He reassured the shortcom-ings will be addressed, if any, within the legal frameworks.

Also, he pointed out that Far-waniya Governorate took the lead in the move to eliminate the phenomenon of singles in private residences, in view of the dan-ger of this phenomenon coupled with security and social factors, especially as the issue disturbs many citizens. He declared that the governorate held several meetings with concerned parties to discuss the phenomenon from all angles.

“I have followed up the forma-tion of this team by providing a detailed report on the social and security aspects of the above-mentioned phenomenon and working on ways to eliminate it. The fact is that the ministers are serious about developing so-lutions and ending the problem from its roots after briefi ng His Highness the Prime Minister on the problem”. He reiterated the Prime Minister did not hesitate to provide support.

KU organizes Quraish Day: Public Relations De-partment at Kuwait University (KU) recently organ-ized the Quraish Heritage Day inside Sabah Al-Salem Auditorium at Khaldiya Campus – in commemora-tion of the forthcoming Ramadan. The event was held under the auspices of the University President Profes-sor Hussain Ahmad Al-Ansari in the presence of the Secretary-General Dr Mathna Al-Rifae and several other senior offi cials of the university.

In a speech, Professor Al-Ansari expressed de-light to meet with the university family and to ex-change pleasantries and congratulatory messages on the advent of the Holy Month, which will con-solidate the spirit of a united family and revive the national heritage.

Burial timings during Ramadan: Director of Fu-neral Affairs Department in Kuwait Municipality Faisal Al-Awadi issued a circular on burial timings during Ramadan, reports Al-Qabas daily.

In the circular, Al-Awadi affi rmed the depart-ment is keen on facilitating services and easing the burdens of the families of the deceased during the funeral, prayers and burial.

The burial timings during Ramadan are as fol-lows: 10:00am, after Asr prayer and Taraweeh.

Singers Wassouf, Sherine to participate in concert

Actor Abdul Imam undergoes spinal surgeryKUWAIT CITY, May 5: Actor Abdul Imam Abdullah recently underwent an urgent spine surgery, reports Al-Rai daily.

He had earlier revealed that his doctor recommended the surgery after discov-ering a shift in his vertebrae in order to avoid aggravating the condition.

Abdullah affi rmed that he will return to acting after recovering from the surgery.

Meanwhile, the well-known Syrian singer George Wassouf, also known as “Abou Wadi3”, has arrived in Kuwait from Beirut to participate in the concert titled “Laila min Al-Omr 3” with the fa-mous Egyptian singer Sherine, reports Al-Anba daily.

The concert will be held at Jumeriah Messilah Beach Hotel.

After arriving in Kuwait, Wassouf ex-pressed his happiness to visit the coun-try after a gap of more than 20 years.

In the meantime, actress Maram Al-Baloushi underwent emergency surgery at a private hospital in Cairo to remove a clot in her heart, reports Al-Seyaassah daily.

She posted a photo on her social me-dia account while she was at the hospital to share the news with her followers.

She also thanked critical heart cases expert Dr Mohamad Fawzi Abdulaleem

for the tremendous efforts he exerted to save her life.

She advised her followers not to sleep when feeling sad in order to avoid heart clot.

It is worth mentioning that Al-Ba-loushi is fi lming her drama, “Cairo Batch,” in Egypt. The drama is pro-duced by Basem Al-Amir and directed by Bahraini director Ali Al-Ali.
