Aquacell Key Personnel MBR Technical Specialist – Colin Fisher (Aquacell Managing Director) Colin Fisher founded Aquacell (formerly Clearwater Technology Pty Ltd) in 1996. Colin has a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree majoring in biotechnology and over 25 years experience in water, process engineering and business management. Colin has been involved in water treatment projects in 20 countries, including the world’s first zero discharge pulp mill in Canada. Colin has also worked on projects in 40 of the 50 states of USA, including the first water recycling scheme in a sand quarry in California. Colin spent 6 years based in the USA, working with a successful water treatment technology equipment manufacturer, where he played key roles in increasing the company’s annual turnover by more than 700%. Roles included operations management, process design, sales channel management and finally international business development. In 2005, Colin was awarded “Entrepreneur of the Year” in the NSW Government’s Western Sydney Business Awards. Aquacell was honoured with the highly competitive award for Excellence in Innovation in the 2007 Western Sydney Industry Awards. Colin forms part of the process technical team to deliver an Aquacell project, as well as provide an internally independent review of the project’s execution process. Technical Manager – Warren Johnson Warren holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and has more than 25 years experience in the water and wastewater industry, specialising in membrane technology. He is an inventor on 13 granted and 15 pending patents in the field, and has authored or co-authored more than 20 papers on membrane processes and applications including membrane bioreactors. Warren is also an experienced manager having held the position of Global Director of R&D for Siemens Memcor Products (previously Memtec) and as CEO of a technology start-up company developing products for the solar industry. Warren’s responsibilities include the engineering and operating functions within Aquacell, directing the design of the system, as well as supporting the commissioning and ongoing operation of the installation. Project Manager – Simon Grimwood Simon is an experienced Project Manager and holds a Bachelor of Chemical Technology. As Project Manager Simon has delivered a diverse range of water and waste water treatment plants in Australia, New Zealand and the UK. Simon’s education gives him a thorough understanding of water treatment processes, and his hands on experience with installation, commissioning and operations give him a thorough understanding of the project entire project life cycle from design, to client handover. Simon will be the primary communication gateway between client/principal contractor and the broader Aquacell team and sub-contractors. He will attend project meetings when required, and will be the first line of contact the client has with Aquacell. Simon’s skills will ensure that the project team works cohesively together to deliver a successful outcome.

Service Engineer – Simon Coobula Simon’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and Master of Science in Pollution Control Technology. He has diverse experience in industrial and commercial water treatment systems and has worked for industry leaders such as Thames Water and GE. Simon was the Water Systems Supervisor for Taronga Zoo where he had full responsibility for the operation and maintenance of all water systems within the zoo which included 6 salt water systems, 5 fresh water systems and a 500m3 per day storm and wastewater recycling plant. Simon’s hands on approach coupled with his experience in a broad range of water treatment systems allow him to operate plants effectively and efficiently, as well as analyse and troubleshoot methodically when required.
Systems Engineer – Justin Taylor Justin holds an Engineering degree in Mechatronics from ANU and spent 14 years working in the manufacturing industry for Caroma Industries. After an initial tenure as the sites Quality Engineer responsible for maintaining the company’s quality and safety systems, he moved into the role of Project Engineer and ultimately, Engineering Manager. As Engineering Manager he was responsible for plant maintenance in a 24/7 operation and for delivering capital upgrade projects including a $25 million plant upgrade. Justin moved into the water industry and spent 4 years as an Operations and Project Manager at Chatoyer Water. His role involved delivering water and waste water projects to remote mine camp sites for EPCM clients such as Brookfield Multiplex and Bechtel. He was also responsible for development of business systems. Justin’s engineering and project experience give him a sound working knowledge of compliance requirements related to delivery of water treatment plants.
Narara Eco Village Project Director – John Talbot John is a registered professional engineer and was Director of the Findhorn Ecovillage Project in Scotland for over twenty years. During that time he pioneered many elements of sustainable community design, infrastructure and building, including a wind farm, ecological waste water treatment plant and many green building techniques and systems. He is the author of Simply Build Green: A Technical Guide to the Ecological Houses at the Findhorn Foundation.

Ben Wilson - Director
Ben has a Civil Engineering degree and has proven design and engineering experience and exceptional capabilities in environmental water and wastewater treatment. Ben a wealth of experienced in detailed design, services coordination, design and construct coordination, and preparing build specifications. Purpose of the position The purpose of this role is to design reticulation networks for a medium sized subdivision.

designing the reticulation networks for the Narara Eco Village. This includes the potable water reticulation associate with a water treatment plant, and the non-potable and sewerage networks associated with a black water recycling plant.

Undertake maintenance and monitoring activities of the WICA infrastructure which have been agreed to by NEV as a nominated third party to the WICA license held by Aquacell.
