the ICT field established by an International treaty in Asia-Pacific.
The organization to develop Asia-Pacific regional views to International
Conferences, such as ITU Plenipotentiary Conferences.

APT is organizing a number of meetingsfor our members to consolidate regionalvoices. Specifically for ITU, there are preparatory meetings for International conferences, such as ITU PPs, WRCs, WTSAs, WTDCs.
Our member states/territories, affiliate members actively participate in these APT meetings to develop our regional proposals.

The APT Conference Preparatory Group for WRC (APG)
APG is a series of our preparatory meeting for WRC. The latest meeting was organized on 12-16 March 2018 (APG 19-3). Some results of the latest meeting are as follow.

Develop 44 Output Documentsinclude 32 Regional Preliminary Views
on WRC’s Agenda Items

APT is providing many activities such asForums, Capacity Buildings and Collaborative Researches, etc., based on our members’ needs, in many cases, under collaborations with other organizations.
In 2017, APT has successfully implemented these programmes collaborated with International organizations, our Affiliate Members and others.

These 2 events were organized by APT and Asia Development Bank (with others) to share the outcomes and achievements of APT projects and to discuss on the issues relevant for deploying cost efficient broadband networks, and to discuss on the issues for extending connectivity to unserved/underserved population

Research on policy trends of “Smart City” in Asia Pacific Region
This research is being conducted under collaboration with several Member Administrations and Affiliate Members in order to provide clear direction of policies on “Smart City”.
A result is going to be published to facilitate our Members to develop policies on “Smart City”.

Areas for Collaboration
APT believes there is a way to synergize and leverage its activities through collaboration with other organizations/agencies. For examples;
Set back-to-back events (meeting, seminar and workshop etc.)
cf. PRF-18 with ITU Regulators Roundtable (Aug. 2018)
Co-organize capacity building course including simulation exercise
e.g. simulation exercise in disaster management and/or cyber security, “Mock Conference” training for young generation
Conduct research work and/or survey together
Speaker/panelist/expert
APT seeks expertise of other organizations/agencies in their relevant fields at various APT activities such as meetings and expert mission, etc.
