CONCERNS
Welcome to Sunset! We are grateful to have you as part of our assembly today as we honor the God who gives us new life in Christ. If you are passing through we wish you safe travels. If you are looking for a church home we hope you will consider Sunset!
Last Sunday we welcomed David Summers to our church family. He is the grandson of Mike and Linda Summers and is a sophomore at Kickapoo High School. Give him a warm welcome. We also had the privilege of praying for David Brown as he came confessing struggles and asking for our support. I know you will give him support through personal encouragement and prayer.
Welcome home to all our group who participated in Leadership Training for Christ this weekend in Kansas City. We had the largest group ever and tonight they will be leading in our worship, allowing you to see their growth in leadership in a variety of areas. We are so proud of our young people and are appreciative of all the adults who participated in the training and chaperoning for this year’s event.
Rick and Sherry Owens will be with us in two weeks. We plan to have a come and go reception for them on Saturday, April 21st and then Rick will be speaking to the combined Sunday school classes on the 22nd about the ongoing work in Mexico.
The door to the human heart can only be opened from the inside.

YOUTH ACTIVITIES
Could it really be Sunday again already? I don’t know about you but I’m glad it is. I hope you’ve had a great weekend so far. Susanna and I have definitely been blessed by the trip to Kansas City for LTC yesterday. Our young people have been working hard on each of their presentations and you’ll be happy to know they represented you well. If you haven’t seen what they’ve done, please be sure to make being here tonight a priority and support them in their hard work. I know it would mean the world to them! Parents, I know it’s been a couple of weeks; how did the question asking go? I hope it was helpful. Let’s give it another try this week with the story of Jacob wrestling God in Genesis 32.
• Have you ever had times when you were convinced God was right there with you? What was that like?
• What do you think Jacob was expecting Esau to do when he heard the news of Jacob’s return?
• Are you as bold as Jacob when it comes to asking God to bless you (v26-29)? Why or why not?
Bryce LTC Night - is TONIGHT, during and after evening worship.
If you haven’t heard these young people perform lately you won’t want to miss this!
1:6 - is Tuesday night from 7-9pm @ the home of Craig and Keri Thomas. Vans leave at 6:40pm and will be back by 9:15pm!
Spring Retreat - at Happy Hollow is next weekend! Make sure you’re packed and ready for the vans to leave at 5pm Friday night. We will be home by the end of second worship on Sunday.
Announcements for the church bulletin must be turned into the church office by noon Thursday.

He's doing OK, but basic training has been just like the basic training we've all heard about. Cards and Letters only. Tentative graduation date 6/29.
Getting To Know You Two of the better known (to us) former residents of Everton MO are Josh and Deana Smithson.
Josh is a MSU graduate and is a Fed Ex Freight driver.
Deana is a legal secretary at McAnany, Van Cleave, and Phillips Law Firm.
The Smithsons have three children: Mackenzie (17), Brayden (12), and Kindall who will soon be 8.
Though the family loves to make weekend trips to St. Louis, they are really getting into soccer these days. Brayden plays for the Springfield Soccer Club. And though she loves cheering at the soccer games, Deana says her favorite thing to do is to gather the family around the dinner table, enjoy a great Italian meal, and share their day. There is just nothing better!
Deana has been a member at Sunset since January 2001 and Josh since the latter part of 2003. The Smith-sons usually attend 1st service, and sit in the north overflow section.
Appreciation Reception For Rick and Sherry Owens
