Hodges University welcomes the newest addition to
the Fort Myers Campus
On March 6th, Hodges University publicly welcomed the Southwest Florida
Community to a ribbon cutting ceremony of the new U Building at the Fort
Myers campus. Many of HU’s supporters, including the Board of Trustees,
staff, faculty, students, and members of the media, were present to view the
new facility. The U Building consists of three floors and 50,000 square feet,
featuring 20 classrooms, 50 staff/faculty offices, and a computer lab. The
offices of Student Development, Career Development, Counseling,
Academic Achievement Services, and Veterans Services welcome students
to their convenient first-floor locations. The library has a temporary home
on the third floor of the U Building as they undergo a major renovation in
the H Building—set to open in August of this year. The crown jewel of the U
Building is an expansive, new Student “U”nion that provides full service
options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. At the Naples campus, we are
nearing completion of a new pavilion to provide outdoor lunch space for
students, faculty and staff. Stop by the U Building at the Fort Myers campus,
and enjoy the new amenities designed for the students of Hodges University.
HU Etiquette Dinner Page 2
Recently, the Johnson School of Business Club along with the
Office of Career Development joined forces to host the first ever
HU Etiquette Dinner on the Fort Myers Campus. The event was
attended by 20 student leaders and led by Cheryl Lampard, CEO
and Founder of Style Matters International, based in Naples. It
was a wonderfully educational event as all the guests were
treated to a delicious, and somewhat tricky four course meal,
carefully crafted to challenge the participants. HU Ambassador
David Fairman said of the event, “this was a wonderful
opportunity to learn all the subtleties and formalities that go
along with dining in a professional environment. The way you
present yourself at a lunch or dinner table can be very impactful
on your career and everyone should take the time to learn the
proper way to conduct yourself in this type of setting. Not only
was it very insightful, but it was also a lot of fun!”
* A Naples Etiquette Dinner will be scheduled in the near future!
