The Mowata Knights of Columbus will sponsor its 2nd annual Jambalaya Cook off on Sunday, April 26th from 10AM– 2PM. The event will take place on the St. Law-rence Church grounds. Admission is $8.00 for adults,
$3.00 for ages 5-12 & free for those 5 and under. There will be an auction at noon. Sweets, drinks & beer will be sold.

Please help us honor Cpl. Matthew Richard and all who serve. Our annual memorial 5K Run/Walk will be Saturday,
May 9. Pre-registration is $25.00 until April 19. Late registration is $30.00 and will be ongoing until race day. En-
tertainment will be provided by Colby Latiolais and AMBUSH with special guests Dustin Sonnier and Jaryd Lane.
Hamburgers, drinks, and beer will be sold. We will also have a silent auction and supply drive for the
City of Refuge Homeless Veterans Shelter in Vinton. The 5K benefits the Cpl. Matthew Richard Memorial Founda-
tion which provides an Iota High School student with a monetary scholarship as well as donations to other service
organizations that support our military men and women.

classes for this year are finished but we still
have one sacrament to complete...First Holy
Communion. We will celebrate that sacrament
on Sunday, May 3rd at 2 pm., here at St. Joseph Church.
May Fest– Please come enjoy the Old Fashioned May Fest on the grounds of St. Joseph Church in Evange-
line, on Saturday & Sunday, May 2nd & 3rd. On Saturday, events begin with a Jambalaya dinner at 5PM
followed by a live auction, womanless beauty pageant and music by the Misfits. On Sunday, the day begins
with bingo at 9AM, followed by the country dinner at 11AM and live auction at 2PM. Enjoy sweet shop, kids’ games, BBQ hamburgers
