MAGNETIC FIELD:-
A condition found in the region around amagnet or an electric current, characterized
by the existence of a detectable magnetic
force at every point in the region and by
the existence of magnetic poles. A region of space near a magnet, electric
current, or moving charged particle in
which a magnetic force acts on any other
magnet, electric current, or moving
charged particle.

There many applications in our day to day life some of them are
Motor
Maglev trains Mass Spectrometer etc..

Maglev is the shortened form of the phrase
MAGNETIC LEVITATION.
MAGNETIC LEVITATION is a way of using
magnetic fields to levitate with out any noise or the
need of the liquid fuel or air Thus maglev means floating of one magnet over the
other.

The different technologies or the
methods for achieving the magneticlevitation are many. Some of them are:-
Germanys TRANSRAPID system
By using diamagnets and permanentmagnets
By using super conductors technology.

The magnetic levitation of train acts with the LONG STATORLINEAR MOTOR (LLM) which is situated beneath the guide way.
As the levitation is achieved the problem rolling friction is kept off.
The propulsion magnet is fixed to the guide way or the track to whic
the continuous 3-phase power supply has to be given

The rotor section of the motor is like wise comparable to
have been unrolled and attached to the levitation system
of vehicle
This technique means that the vehicle and guide way
form the single unit .

In this way the vehicle is acceleratedor decelerated by inducing 3-phase
current in LLM which creates a
travelling magnetic field
The speed of the vehicle isdetermined by the frequency (in Hz)
of the current in the LLM, Which in
turn determines the speed of the
travelling magnetic field

Notable consequences in the
maglev trains: The drive system isn't installed in the vehicle ,
instead its in the guide way so the maximum
acceleration & speed for the duration ofjourney can be planned in advance through
Prior adjustment
The speed ranges from the 500-550 kmph in
normal planes

Control Systems: There are no signalling
systems for high or low speed maglev systems.
There is no need since all these systems are
computer controlled. Besides, at the extremely
high speeds of these systems, no human operator
could react fast enough to slow down or stop in
time. Two maglev system microwave towers are
in contact with an EMS vehicle at all times for
two-way communication between the vehicle
and the central command centre's mainoperations computer. There are no need for train
whistles or horns, either.
