What is Rocky Mountain Performance Excellence (RMPEx)?

• A self-supporting, 501c3 non-profit volunteer (~100) organization, affiliated with the Malcolm Baldrige Performance Excellence Program; focused on helping organizations improve their performance.

• The Malcolm Baldrige Performance Excellence Program was established by Congress in 1988 to– identify/recognize role model organizations– establish criteria for performance excellence, based on role

model activities, to promote performance improvement efforts

– disseminate/share best practices, as found in role model organizations.

The RMPEx/Baldrige Process• The RMPEx/Baldrige Criteria tells organizations (through

the criteria questions) how to integrate performance excellence into their activities.

• To self-assess, apply for feedback and/or an award, , organizations explain how they perform those activities.

• A team of examiners analyze the maturity of those activities.

• A feedback report is generated describing organizational strengths and opportunities for improvement (OFIs).

• Organizations create plans to sustain the strengths and address the OFIs.
