Table Topper Sewing Instructions1. Sew (1) 2” x 8 ½” Fabric G strip to each side of (1) 8 ½” Fabric F square. Sew (1) 2” x 11 ½” Fabric G strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric F square to make (1) Unit 1 square (Fig. 1). Trim unit to measure 10 ½” square. Repeat to make (4) Unit 1 squares total. 2. Place (1) 1 ¾”Fabric J square on the lower right corner of (1) Unit 1 square, right sides together (Fig. 2). Sew across the diagonal of the smaller square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 2). Flip open the triangle formed and press. Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle ¼” away from the sewn seam to make (1) Block One square (Fig. 3).

3. Repeat Step 2 and refer to Figures 4-6 for fabric identification, placement and seam direction to make (1) Block Two square, (1) Block Three square and (1) Block Four square. Note: The arrow in the figures represents the direction of the fabric print.

4. Place (1) 1 ½” Fabric K square on the left side of (1) 1 ½” x 2 ½” Fabric H strip, right sides together (Fig. 7). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 7). Flip open the triangle formed and press. Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle leaving a ¼” seam allowance (Fig. 8).

5. Place another 1 ½” Fabric K square on the right side of the 1 ½” x 2 ½” Fabric H strip, right sides together (Fig. 9). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper left corner to the lower right corner (Fig. 9). Flip open the triangle formed and press. Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle leaving a ¼” seam allowance to make (1) Unit 2 strip (Fig. 10). Repeat to make (16) Unit 2 strips total.

6. Sew (1) Unit 2 strip to each side of (1) 2 ½” Fabric K square. Pay attention to the unit orientations. Sew (1) 1 ½” Fabric H square to each end of (1) Unit 2 strip to make (1) Top Block Strip. Repeat to make (1) Bottom Block Strip. Sew the Top Block Strip and the Bottom Block Strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric K square to make (1) Block Five square (Fig. 11). Pay attention to the strip orientations. Repeat to make (4) Block Five squares total.

7. Repeat Steps 4-5 and refer to Figure 12 while using (8) 5 ½” square and (4) 5 ½” x 10 ½” Fabric D strips to make (4) Unit 3 strips.

8. Sew (1) Unit 3 strip to each side of (1) 10 ½” Fabric A square. Pay attention to the unit orientations. Sew (1) 5 ½” Fabric C square to each end of (1) Unit 3 strip to make (1) Top Block Strip. Repeat to make (1) Bottom Block Strip. Sew the Top Block Strip and the Bottom Block Strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A square to make the Center Block (Fig. 13). Pay attention to the strip orientations.

9. Sew (1) 1 ¾” x 20 ½” Fabric J strip to the bottom of (1) 9 ¼” x 20 ½” Fabric E strip to make (1) Block Six strip (Fig. 14). Pay attention to the orientation of the Fabric E strip. Repeat to (4) Block Six strips total.

Table Topper Top Assembly (Refer to Figure 15 while assembling.)10. Sew (1) Block Six strip to each side of the Center Block. Pay attention to the strip orientations. Sew (1) Block One square to the left side of (1) Block Six strip. Pay attention to the strip orientation. 12. Sew (1) 4 ½” x 42 ½” Fabric I strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) Block Five square to each end of (1) 4 ½” x 42 ½” Fabric I strip to make (1) Top Outer Border Strip. Repeat to make (1) Bottom Outer Border Strip. Sew the Top Outer Border Strip and the Bottom Outer Border Strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block to make the quilt top.

13. Layer and quilt as desired.

14. Sew the (6) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric H strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press.

15. Bind as desired.

Place Mat Sewing Instructions1. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 8 ½” Fabric B strip to each side of (1) 8 ½” Fabric A square. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 10 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A square to make (1) Unit 4 square (Fig. 16). Trim unit to measure 10” square. Repeat to make (4) Unit 4 squares total.

2. Sew (1) 1 ¾” x 10” Fabric C strip to each side of (1) Unit 4 square. Sew (1) 1 ¾” x 12 ½” Fabric C strip to the top and to the bottom of the Unit 4 square to make (1) Block Seven square (Fig. 17). Repeat to make (4) Block Seven squares total.

3. Place (1) 1 ½” Fabric D square on the left side of (1) 1 ½” x 2 ½” Fabric B strip, right sides together (Fig. 18). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 18). Flip open the triangle formed and press. Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle leaving a ¼” seam allowance (Fig. 19).

4. Place another 1 ½” Fabric D square on the right side of the 1 ½” x 2 ½” Fabric B strip, right sides together (Fig. 20). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper left corner to the lower right corner (Fig. 20). Flip open the triangle formed and press. Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle leaving a ¼” seam allowance to make (1) Unit 5 strip (Fig. 21). Repeat to make (32) Unit 5 strips total.

5. Repeat Steps 3-4 and refer to Figure 22 for fabric identification and placement to make (16) Unit 6 strips.

7. Sew (1) Unit 6 strip to each side of (1) 2 ½” Fabric E square. Pay attention to the unit orientations. Sew (1) 1 ½” Fabric F square to each end of (1) Unit 6 strip to make (1) Top Block Strip. Repeat to make (1) Bottom Block Strip. Sew the Top Block Strip and the Bottom Block Strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric E square to make (1) Block Nine square (Fig. 24). Pay attention to the strip orientations. Repeat to make (4) Block Nine squares total.
