In the month of July, the Nature Day chil-
dren explored and studied the Geography
of the area in Gevgelija and Macedonia.
The first weekend was spent finding out
about River Vardar. The ecologist Lazar
Nikolov accompanied the children down
to Vardar where he explained where the
river starts, where it flows into the sea
and how important natural feature the
river is to Macedonia. The children tested
the river water quality and found it to be
reasonably healthy in Gevgelija. The day ended with children making small river valleys
in the sandbar along the river.
The next weekend the children con-
tinued their investigation of water fea-
tures by hiking to Toplik reservoir. The
children again tested the small lake’s
water. Because of the hot weather the
water was no longer flowing out of the
lake so the dissolved oxygen level was
very low. Before hiking back a good
game of water tag was played on a hot
day. In the next two weekends the chil-
dren focused on the geology of the area. First, by looking for rocks and minerals along
the dry river beds ending at the aggregate plant at River Vardar and the next weekend
with a trip to the foot hills of Kozuf Mountain to see the effects of the shifting earth
that cause earthquakes in Macedonia.
The month ended with a trip to the mountains with the Gevgelija Mountain Club ac-
companying the children to learn how to hike better and survive in the outdoors. The
children watched the pitching of a tent and then cooked their own lunch. Everything
was prepared on a stick including sausages, spiced apples and even bread. The children
were instructed in how to make the fire, how to safely use a knife and how to com-
pletely extinguish the fire. The day ended with a nice river swim. Next month the chil-
dren will focus on the wildlife and animals of Macedonia.

Exhibition of arts from Vladimir Temkov
Concert of PMG Collective
In the exhibitory parlor of hotel "Apollonia" within the frames of manifestation "Gevgelija - City of Culture" on July 11 was
opened an exhibition of works by Vladimir Temkov. The artist from Kavadarci presented himself in front of Gevgelija audience
with two dozens of paintings that are part of his last cycle, "My cereal fields."
"Temkov carries his drawing within him. His paintings are his view, thinking about the field, the life, the message that our na-
tive land carries, Macedonia, our sun. His works have been transformed in one the most formalistic ways, expressly repre-
sented on the canvas, as he sees and feels. Temkov’s art speaks the language of the robust lyricism, spontaneous and com-
pletely free from any strictly rational concept", say the criticism for Temkov.
Another event realized in the premises of "Apollonia" which caused a
lot of interest among the younger audience.
Concert of PMG Collective with the promotion of their latest album,
fourth in a row, entitled "A life so well begun."
This is probably the most mature and most organic album of the band
ever. Sinisa Evtimov, guitar, Alexander Gavrovski, bass, Zdravko
Kevreshan, drums and Mirko Popov, vocal, is the composition behind
this material.
The event was organized by the Center of Culture - Gevgelija, and
within the manifestation "Gevgelija - City of Culture."

opened an exhibition entitled "Woman as a symbol and inspiration", another
cultural event in the area art, as part of the manifestation "Gevgelija - City of

the new creative time, and new manners of traveling of this dynamic life en-
ergy through which today's woman is presented - said Mile Ničevski from Cen-
ter of culture - Gevgelija in the welcoming speech at the opening of the exhibi-

For the artists - participants in the
art commune "Apollonia"
The artists, participants at the art commune
"Apollonia", continue the journey through all
the pages of beauty, spiritual light, harmony ...
Their arts are an attempt to touch the essen-
tial, magical, imaginary, non discovered, eter-
nal. This trip of theirs is mystical, divine, mys-
terious, vivid.
Artists are after eternal search of dreams, af-
ter that picture of the subconscious, after that
hidden reality, and these archetypes that re-
veals as visions, insights, imaginations, myths,
symbols …
Artists with untamed force continue their
travels through ageless night, facing the fasci-
nating dichotomy of real and imaginary, mate-
rial and dreamed, visible and invisible. Thus
they return to a life-giving sources of one an-
cient picture of collective subconscious, and
their works continue to live as the absolute
fascination, eternal time of creative rhythm,
harmony of the human soul.
