Becoming an Officer of ITTHC
The club has several new members in the
club now and it is the responsibility of the
members to keep the club running efficiently.
I know that it is kind of scary to stand up and
accept an officers position but believe me it is
not that big of a job. It takes very little time
each month to handle these positions. We
need the new younger members to step up
and accept these responsibilities. Talk to one
of the members that has an officers job to see
what is involved.

Recently learned that former long time ITTHC member Keith "DOC" Sutton died in
September of this year at 92. The family made no death announcement and had no
services. Thought club members that knew him would want to be informed.
"DOC" was a Gastroenterologist. While my brother was stationed in San Diego had
him acquire a Navy Rear Admiral ball cap to give to Keith. He then used "Rear
Admiral" as a CB handle.
"DOC" enjoyed Civil War relic hunting and engaged in it as often as possible.
He was also a World War 2 veteran and was training as a paratrooper when his service
was cut short by a collision with a barbed wire fence & corner post during a night jump
while in training.
Rest In Peace "DOC"

It is time again to elect Club Officers and to fill club positions. Anyone is welcome to run for any club office or fill any
position. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been in the club for twenty years or twenty days. You don’t need any experience and
there will be plenty of people to help you out. We cannot have a club if we can’t fill most of these offices. It’s as simple as
that. Most of these positions only require about 3 hours of your time a month and that time is spent at the club and board
meetings. I will attempt to list the club offices, positions, their descriptions, and the approximate commitment time.
Nominations will be taken at the November Club Meeting and we will have the election at the Christmas Dinner.

2017 Fall Club Member Only Hunt Roundup
The hunt was held Sunday, October 29th at the Creek County Fairgrounds. And we could not have had
better weather, sunny day, light wind, and a high temperature of around of 73°. Thanks to those that
were out there early helping with stringing the fields, burying the coins, setting up the building,
cleaning up the building, and all the other jobs that had to be done for this event to be a success.
Thanks to John Hayworth for picking up the stakes & string from the club’s storage building and
managing the stringing of the hunt fields. Thanks to Jean & Wally Dick for running the 50-50 Raffle.
And the most important segment of the Fall Hunt, the food! There were 45 ITTHC members lined up
for this banquet. There was a great spread of food again. Thanks to all the cooks that made it possible
and that includes all you guys that had entries in the “Bobby Crocker” dessert contest.
Winners in the “Bobby Crocker” contest were: 1st – Wally Dick with his “Yummy Tummy Delight –
Coconut Cream Pie” won a 1896-S Morgan Silver Dollar. 2nd – John Hayworth with his “Chocolate
Cheesecake” won a 1925 Peace Silver Dollar. 3rd – John Freeman with his “Banana Pudding Poke
Cake” won a US 1 oz. Silver Eagle. Thank you Rachel Hayworth for again organizing the “Bobby
Crocker” contest. It was all great!
Thanks to Roger Eaton & John Hamilton for planting & managing the Deep Buried Competition Hunt
this year. This is a Competition Hunt where the Quarter size targets (1 point) & the Dime size targets
(3 points) are buried 6+ inches deep. The top finishers are those with the most points after the 45
minute hunt.
And the winners were: 1st Place with 10 points - Kim Hauger 4 quarters & 2 dimes; 2nd Place with
7 points - Lloyd Coke with 4 quarters & 1 dime. This hunt is a good test of man & machine.
The club allotted $200.00 to purchase prizes for the hunt. Thanks to Jim Nobles for another good job
working the prize board. There were also club member donated prizes. Thanks to all those that
donated prizes to the hunt. The prize tokens were stamped and painted Silver Mercury Dimes & Silver
No-Date Standing Liberty Quarters. This years hunt also had $320.00 added from the Silent Auction to
purchase coins over the amount of entry fees collected.
In the Main Coin/Prize Hunt there were a 26 entries. The hunt field was 50 yards by 90 yards. There
were 644 Silver Mercury Dimes in the coin hunt. The high total heard was 42 Silver Mercury Dimes &
a Silver Walking Liberty Half. The Silver Walking Liberty Half was one not found in the Silver Half
Hunt from our National Hunt held Memorial Day Weekend. There was a total of 47 prizes. There
were 2 of the prize tokens not found. A Fisher F11 Metal Detector was donated by Indian Nations
Detectors. The 2 prizes not found were drawn for from the 50-50 raffle.
