• The implementation of the LEADER approach is supported through
the National budget of the Republic of Serbia (“LEADER Like”
measure);
• It was published first public call for submitting applications
for approving rights to support programmes related to preparation
of the Local Development Strategies in 2019;
• At the beginning of 2020, twenty-two potential LAG’s signed a
grant agreement to develop a Local Rural Development Strategy;
• It's expected that till the end of 2020 submitted Strategies
will be evaluated and first partnerships will receive recognition
and further assistance in realization of LDS in 2021;
• Accreditation of Measure 5 Implementation of the local
development strategies– LEADER approach, expected by the end of
2021.

• The organization and execution of processes is generally
smooth. Most of the bottlenecks relate to data availability,
insufficient funds at certain point of time, lack of understanding
of EU Rural Policy and clear definition of agricultural
sustainability as a concept that can be simply digested by
stakeholders from the bottom-local level of arena.
