PARISH INFORMATION / INFORMACION PARROQUIAL New Parishioners: We welcome all new members to our parish community. Please register in the parish office. Also, if there is a change in address, please notify us.

Sacrament of Reconciliation: Saturdays 11am -12pm, the first Friday of each month from 7-9pm, and the third Thursday of the month from 6-7pm (or by appointment).

Catechesis/Religious Education: Call the Office of Reli-gious Education at the rectory (ext. 31) for more infor-mation.

Baptisms: To register to have your child baptized, bring the birth certificate and $50 donation to the parish office. See the list of dates on page 5. There are no baptisms dur-ing the season of Lent.

Marriages: Arrangements must be made at least six months before the wedding date. No marriages are celebrated on Sundays. Call a priest in the rectory for arrangements.

Cotillions/Quinceañeras: The family must be registered in the parish. The young lady must have received the sacraments of Baptism, Communion and Confirmation. Parents and young lady need to attend a retreat.

Adult Sacramental Formation: For information on classes for adults who want to become Catholic or to complete your sacraments, please call the parish office.

Presentations: Only for 3-year-olds who are baptized and for 40 day newborn blessing. On Sunday during Mass or various Saturdays at 1pm. Call the parish office to register.

Wedding Anniversary Blessings: Call the parish office to register.

Seriously Ill and Homebound: You may request anointing of the sick & pastoral visits by contacting the parish of-fice.

Food Pantry: We have a food pantry on various Thurs-days. Call the rectory office for dates.

Charismatic Prayer Group: Meets on Wednesdays in the Church at 7pm. All are welcome.

Citizenship Classes: Meet every Tuesday and Thursday night in St. Augustine Hall at 6pm, and Fridays in the rectory at 9:30am. For information, call Adriana Morales at 773-540-4033.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Every Thursday from 8:30am-7pm and every first Friday of the month from 6-9pm in the chapel.

Nuevos Parroquianos: ¡Bienvenidos a todos los nuevos miembros de nuestra comunidad! Favor de registrarse en la oficina parroquial. También, si usted cambia su domicilio, notifíquenos por favor.

Formación para Adultos que Necesitan Sus Sacramentos: Para la información sobre las clases para los adultos que desean hacerse católico o completar sus sacramentos, llame a la oficina parroquial.

Presentaciones: Solamente para los que cumplen 3 años y son bautizados o bendiciones de 40 días para recién naci-dos. Durante las misas dominicales y varios sábados a la 1pm. Llame a la oficina parroquial para registrarse.

Bendiciones de los Aniversarios de Matrimonio: Llame a la oficina parroquial para registrarse.

Los Enfermos y Los Ancianos: Llame a la oficina parroquial para recibir el Sacramento de Unción y visitas pastorales.

Despensa Parroquial: Llame a la oficina parroquial para las fechas de nuestra despensa de comida. Son los jueves.

Círculo de Oración: Se reúne los miércoles en la iglesia a las 7pm. Todos son invitados.

Clases de Ciudadanía: Cada Martes y Jueves en el Salón San Agustín a las 6pm, y los Viernes en la rectoría a las 9:30am. Para más información, llame a Adriana Morales 773-540-4033.

Adoración al Santísimo: Cada jueves de 8:30am-7pm y ca-da primer viernes de 6-9pm en la capilla.

Devoción a Santa Rita: Hay una Misa mensual en honor de nuestra patrona cada tercer jueves del mes a las 7pm con confesiones antes, de 6-7pm.

Es un día tomado por la Iglesia para orar y recordar a nuestros seres queridos que han fallecido. Aquí en Sta. Rita le ofrecemos a todos la oportunidad para hacerlo en maneras especiales.

1) LEYENDO LOS NOMBRES- Pueden venir o llamar a la rectoría y dar los nombres que a usted le gustaría recordar

durante una Misa ese día. Los nombres recibidos antes del viernes, 25 de Octubre serán nombrados durante la misa que usted guste, ya sea misa de 11:30am o 6pm. Le pedimos lo más posible que usted considere dar una donación por cada nombre.

2) FOTOS- Les invitamos a todos a traer fotos de sus seres queridos que han fallecido para nuestro Altar de los Muertos,

el 2 de Noviembre y todo el mes. Ahora hasta el viernes, 25 de Octubre estaremos recibiendo las fotos. Se les pide por favor de poner las fotos en un cuadro para que puedan estar paradas. Si usted quiere las fotos regresadas, por favor incluya su nombre y número de teléfono en la parte de atrás de la foto o el cuadro. Favor de traer las fotos a la oficina parroquial.

3) LIBRO DE VIDA- En todo el mes de Noviembre el libro estará junto al Altar de los Muertos, para que usted inscriba

a sus seres queridos fallecidos. Ellos estarán recordados en oración todo el mes.

Saturday, November 2nd is All Souls Day Masses at 11:30am & 6pm (Confessions 5pm-6pm)

(Commemoration of all the Faithful Departed/el Día de los Muertos)

This is a day set aside by the Church to remember and pray for all our deceased loved ones. Here at St. Rita, we are offering everyone the opportunity to do this in very special ways:

1) READING NAMES - You may call or come to the rectory office to give us names of those you would like to be re-

membered during one Mass that day. Names received before Friday, October 25th will be read aloud during the Mass of your choosing, whether 11:30am or 6pm. As far as is possible, we ask that you consider giving a donation for each name you submit.

2) PHOTOS - Between now and October 25th, we invite you to bring photos of your deceased loved ones which will be

displayed on our Altar of the Dead beginning on November 2nd and throughout the month of November. If possible, please put the picture in a frame (so it can stand up) and IF YOU WANT THE PICTURE RETURNED TO YOU, please include your name and telephone number on the back of the picture. Please bring photos to the parish office.

3) BOOK OF LIFE – Throughout November the Book of Life will be near the Altar of the Dead for you to inscribe the

names of your deceased loved ones. They will be remembered in prayer all month long.

COLLECTION FOR THE AUGUSTINIAN MIDWEST PROVINCE During our Masses today, a representative from the Augustinian Province of Our Mother of Good Counsel is making a brief presentation on the ministry and programs of the Order. We Augustinian friars have been serving in the Chicago area for 114 years, beginning with the foundation of St. Rita of Cascia Parish. Currently, the Province has inancial responsibilities for educating new priests and brothers, as well as for caring for retired and in irm friars. The sec-ond collection next Sunday will be for the Augustinians. Thank you for your generosity.

COLECTA PARA LOS AGUSTINOS DE LA PROVINCIA DEL MEDIOESTE

Durante las misas el dıa de hoy, un representante de los Agustinos de la Provincia de Nuestra Madre del Buen Consejo esta dando una presentacion sobre los ministerios de la Orden. Los frailes agustinos han servi-do en Chicago por 114 anos, comenzando con la fundacion de la parroquia de Sta. Rita. Actualmente, la Pro-vincia tiene responsabilidades inancieras por la educacion y formacion de nuevos Agustinos, y por el cuida-do de los frailes jubilados y enfermos. La segunda colecta el proximo domingo sera para los ministerios de los Agustinos. Gracias por su generosidad.

Congratulations to Maria Torres, Parishioner of St. Rita Parish, who received the Christifideles Award of the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Maria has been a catechist with our religious education program for 22 years. We thank her for her dedication!

The Christifideles Award is given to Catholic laypeople who have, by participating in par-ish life, demonstrated the personal and ministerial renewal called for by the papal exhortation Christifideles Laici, calling the laity to the “vocation of responsibility for the church’s life springing from the gift and mission of their baptism.”
