Objectives:• Through the respect ancient cultures had for

environment, understand the importance of its preservation to day.

• Inclusion of the notion of “Cultural Heritage” in “Protected Areas".

Settlers of the Manso Zone:

Tehuelche

• Later came settlers from Chile, Through

the “Paso de Cochamó”.

• And then, european inmigrants.

Culture: Own capacity developed by Men in all time and places, capacity

that intermediates between man and his environment.

Cultural Heritage• Has been incorporated as• objective of preservation in the• last ten years. Represents the • relationship between man and• his environment, from remote past to present, integrating tangible things, as

archeological or historic sites, as well as intangible components, let s say, the relationships and processes that represent, and the information they keep.

Protected Areas

“When Protected Areas, in any of their forms of implementation, superpone to land or originary territories, there should be recognized the fundamental rights of local communities, as territoriality, forms of autonomy, use and management of the resources existent in them.”

Some Concepts on Tehuelche Culture

• “The Tehuelche spiritual • tonality contains • an extraordinary • richness in tints, • that when reflexed in its • myths and traditions, • elevate in these aspects • over a level unknown till • today…”•

• Their Healing Ceremonies • were communitary • and implicated a numerose series • of rituals • directed by shaman.• Chosen places in which there was• some mountain wall, with some • land, near a river and with eco.•
