“Change is the only constant” are the wise words used
by the previous editorial team in their last issue. Well,
now they have passed down the mantle to us and it is
our job to make sure we kick up a notch!
I have always wondered, what is the feeling of
anxiety that fills one as he/she walks into the
unknown, better known as a feel of change or feel of
being different, different in the sense – unique. And
trust us when we say things are going to be different
enough to leave a dent, no – a crater in the life of
“Anubhutians” this year on and that's a promise!
Now we cannot guarantee that this transition will be
smooth and easy but we assure you that things are
going to be more interesting from now on and we will
leave you craving for the next edition every month!
This is all because some say change is good while other
may contradict, but change will always come and it's in
yours and change's hands to make a difference.

ALOHA–What Matters is You
Experience things and you will have things at a go. Books only
teach us ‘What to do?’ but experiencing paves a path to
connect with reality. Aloha is a step towards it, insisted by
J.P.Rao sir and for the students, that’s something unique
about our school. What are the objectives of Aloha? Fulfilling
the needs and wants of students on various occasions, is our
primary motive. As a company, we even aim at earning profits.
We worked hard on the commencement of the company and
later for the production of goods. The best part was, we were thenjoying our work. On 7 of August, that is Friendship Day,
the opening ceremony of our company took place and it was
also the day of our first sale. Our company flourished with flying colours on that special day. We sold many
different and creative products. Aloha is standing for the Anubhutians whenever they will need us. Hope you
enjoy, when we come back with our second and a better sale. We would like to thank J.P.Rao sir, Ashok sir,
Swagat sir and Anjali akka, who helped us through out.

th thAn English workshop for class 12 was held from 12 thto 15 August. Two resource persons, Kuntala
Sengupta and Manjima Biswas had come to interact
and teach us some techniques of drama. On the
first day we were asked to act on any topic of our
wish and on the second day we were introduced to
drama and its variants. We also enacted several
short plays. On the third day we had to combine and
set all the plays together and also enact a scene
each from 'Arms and the Man'. The skits we had
performed were later presented on stage on the th15 of August. The workshop experience will surely
help us in the future as it taught us about
onomatopoeic sounds, method of communication on
stage, and much more.

Interesting puzzles, tricky mind games, creative origami, and the best part –
enjoyment!!! We got a wonderful opportunity to interact with Sri Suryanarayana, who
is a mathematician and has been to several countries. He imparted us with the
knowledge of new tricks and methods to solve math. He taught us how to play with
numbers. This was a marvellous experience and a remarkable workshop.

thOn 29 of August, we Anubhutians were honoured to
welcome an esteemed dignitary in the school, Mr. thArun Patnaik who was the 36 Commissioner of
Mumbai and one of the most dynamic IPS officers of
Maharashtra. He had been awarded with several
prestigious awards. He gave us an insight into the
police system which is rare but we were fortunate to
have him talk about it. The interaction ended with a
question session. Mr.Patnaik's kind words and
distinguished career will act as an inspiration to
Anubhutians.

Into the Police World
thOn the occasion of India's 70 Independence Day we
started our day with the flag hoisting in the morning.
The chief guest for the day was Mr. Anand Gupte, a
well-known famous Marathi artist. This was followed thby a programme by the students of class 10 and some
thstudents of class 11 . The play was based on India's
unique struggle for freedom. It was named as “The
Journey to Freedom.” The play was directed by Abira
akka and Harshal sir. It depicted some of the
important events like the Revolt of 1857, Swadeshi
and Boycott Act, the Famous Jallianwala Bagh, Non-
cooperation Act, Chauri Chaura, Civil Disobedience
Movement and the Quit India Movement. As Anubhuti
believes in experiential learning, this play was an thexample of it as it helped the 10 standard students.
After this play there was a patriotic dance. We left
the audience spellbound and patriotic. This was thfollowed by the 12 class students performance. They
had put up a play based on Greek mythology which was
unique in its own way. This idea was given by the
resource people who had come for a drama workshop.
In the evening we had a marathon, Run for Freedom in
which all the students participated with sportsmen
spirit. This day filled up the hearts with a nationalistic
fervor.

The Great StruggleMission Wakayama
For the third consecutive year Anubhuti team
carried the fragrance of Indian culture in the
frontiers of far East Asia, Japan. This year the
crusader was our teacher Swapna Akka along with
Viraj Bang. The details of Mission Wakayama in their
words:
“Swapna Akka and I had been to Japan to attend
Asian and Oceanian High School Forum which was
held at Wakayama prefecture in Japan. This forum
included events such as a stay with a Japanese family
and my family was the Kashio's family, a trip to
Koyasan which is a UNESCO world heritage site near
Wakayama city the palace surrounded by eight low
peaks, introduction speeches by the students
representatives of their respective countries, soon
after this the sectional meeting was held which was
preceded under the two chairperson. Our topic was
IT and communication. The chairperson had to make a
new presentation based on our exhibitions
emphasizing on the important points, this was to be
delivered during the general meeting and there would
be open questions from the public to the
representatives of the countries. After the general
assembly we had a quiz in which my team secured
third place. We were taken to a reception conducted
by the governor of Wakayama, where we met many
distinguished guests such as the head of Indian
Embassy of Osaka, head of Korean Embassy of
Osaka, and the governor himself. The next day was
the cultural exchange with Serin High School, a visit
to a shrine and the Wakayama Marina City. All these
places were mesmerizing and the memories
accompanied us back to our mother land India. I had a
great time, my trip to Japan was haunting, memorable
and astonishing”. Wow, that is really commendable.
Kudos to Viraj and Swapna akka! You both really
raised the flag of Anubhuti school in the cluster of
Asian schools.

Tissue Culture – A Learning Experience
th thOn 4 and 5 of August 2016 grade 8 students were
in the conference room of world's No.1 Jain Tissue
Culture lab with their biology teacher Jayshree
Akka; imbibing knowledge and looking forward to try
their hands on the techniques of plant tissue culture
through callus culture. They got a close look of the
different ex-plants like seeds, leaves, apical and
axillary buds used for vegetative propagation of
plant by this method. They learned about a marine
algae called agar which is the most important
ingredient in the used nutrient media on which the
ex-plant is grown. They were surprised to know that
coal is used as one of the ingredients in the growing
media. They learned every detail from the lab to
farm journey of a sapling from Dr. Jeetendra Patil.
They got to see the functioning of the rare
equipment and apparatuses like micropipette,
forceps, stirrer, autoclave, pH meter, media mixer
etc. used in the process. Vegetative propagation of
plants in Jain Tissue culture lab is done successfully
for banana, pomegranate, strawberry, guava etc.
Students were enthralled by the scientific idea that
has changed the life of millions of farmers around
the world. Thanks to the organizers.

Enhancement of Abilities
Activities are the best source of refreshment. They
help us to reduce our stress and brain testing
activities specially act as a lubricant for mind
sharpening. Such brain testing activities were
introduced to students of grade 11 during CTP class.
These few activities were organized by our dear
class teacher Swagat Sir :- forming a Pyramid by
using a newspaper, catching the bottle in which we
were asked to do the opposite of the instruction
given, memory game in which 16 different words of
no relations with each other were written in a series
and we were told to memorize it. Whereas the twist
was brought in the game when sir, instead of asking
the word asked us the number of the words, chits
for friends in which we were asked to write a task
for our friend but the game was twisted and we had
to do whatever we wrote on that chit. All these
activities were really very refreshing. At last sir
made the activities more interesting by awarding
prizes to the winner.

Janmashtami
The day our beloved Lord Krishna was born. A festival
of happiness and excitement. We celebrated it on thAugust 25 . Since one week, we all were eagerly
waiting for this day. On the occasion of Janmashtami, thClass 7 students took up the assembly for the
celebration of the festival. They mainly focused on
the birth of Lord Krishna which was followed by a
dance. In the evening, we were asked to assemble for
the “Dahi Handi”. The songs which were played were
like the icing on the cake. As soon as we were given the
go ahead, we all rushed into our groups and started
planning strategies for conquering the quest at hand.
It was followed by a full scale war in which mud and
water were used as the main weapons.

On the border
On 14 of August we were privileged to have amidst th
us Mr. Yogendra Singh Yadav, who is a young, brave
army officer. He was sixteen years old when he
joined the army and three years later was asked to
go for the Kargil War. There were only 21 army
officers who were appointed from his battalion. Out
of all the 21 there was only one audacious soul who
survived that is Paramveer Chakra winner, Subedar
Yogendra Singh Yadav. The Pakistani combatants
shot 19 bullets on him, but yet he survived as he had a
strong will to save his motherland. He now serves as
an inspiration to the youth of this country. We will
continue to admire his great works.
