God’s Country – Go Dawgs!). This year’s Special Offering will go towards the Ministerial Education Fund or MEF. The Ministerial Education Fund has helped thousands of men and women become pastoral leaders in The United Methodist Church. It is nurtured and funded by United Methodists to provide scholarships to seminary and undergraduate students, course-of-study for local pastors, and license to preach school. I am very proud to have earned my Masters of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. I absolutely loved attending Candler. I even had fun diving into theology and all that goes with it. A seminary education is a required blessing for those seeking ordination; however, it is a costly blessing. While attending Candler, I was fortunate to receive Ministerial Education Funds. The MEF assisted in defraying the cost of my tuition and books. It was also encouraging to know that my denomination affirmed my call to ministry through its willingness to help with the cost of my ministerial education. Aligning with the theme of the 2017 Annual Conference , "Show Your Work: Worship That Inspires Action," this fund is one way United Methodists can show our support to those called to serve as clergy. Together we can help minimize debt of North Georgia United Methodists beginning in ministry. 100 percent of the giving to the Annual Conference Special Offering will go to United Methodist seminary and course of study students in the North Georgia Conference. Please prayerfully considering giving to the Ministerial Education Fund. Mark your checks or offering envelopes with “Annual Conference Special Offering”. Peace & Blessings, Pastor Pam

Annual Conference Special Offering

The 2017 North Georgia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church will meet June 13 th – June 15th in

Athens, Georgia (a.k.a. God’s Country – Go Dawgs!). This year’s Special Offering will go towards the Ministerial

Education Fund or MEF.

The Ministerial Education Fund has helped thousands of men and women become pastoral leaders in The United

Methodist Church. It is nurtured and funded by United Methodists to provide scholarships to seminary and

undergraduate students, course-of-study for local pastors, and license to preach school.

I am very proud to have earned my Masters of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology at Emory University

in Atlanta, Georgia. I absolutely loved attending Candler. I even had fun diving into theology and all that goes with it. A

seminary education is a required blessing for those seeking ordination; however, it is a costly blessing. While attending

Candler, I was fortunate to receive Ministerial Education Funds. The MEF assisted in defraying the cost of my tuition and

books. It was also encouraging to know that my denomination affirmed my call to ministry through its willingness to help

with the cost of my ministerial education.

Aligning with the theme of the 2017 Annual Conference, "Show Your Work: Worship That Inspires Action," this fund is

one way United Methodists can show our support to those called to serve as clergy. Together we can help minimize debt

of North Georgia United Methodists beginning in ministry. 100 percent of the giving to the Annual Conference

Special Offering will go to United Methodist seminary and course of study students in the North Georgia

Conference.

Please prayerfully considering giving to the Ministerial Education Fund. Mark your checks or offering envelopes with

“Annual Conference Special Offering”.

Peace & Blessings, Pastor Pam

Summer Study—Acts of the Apostles

This week marks the beginning of our church-wide summer learning with the Book of Acts. Please engage with a friend, spouse, or a small group of friends/relative. You can also engage via facebook. Please check the church’s page each week for a message from the pastors or staff and make comments about what you have read. While reading, ask yourself these questions…

What is the historical context of this bible passage?

What is this passage calling the Disciples or

Congregation to do in that context?

What is this passage calling me to do?

This week’s reading: Acts 1 & 2

Father’s Day Bulletin

Deadline for name submissions is June 11.

Dear Bethany Family,

Thank you for your kind words and prayers in regards to my recent surgery and recovery. I also want to express my gratitude to my Father-in-Law, Rev. Jerry McCurdy (a.k.a. Papa) for preaching for me and for being on call. Bethany is in caring and compassionate hands with Papa.

I am truly blessed to be a part of such a loving and supportive congregation.

Peace, Blessings and Love, Pastor Pam

I would like to thank my church family for the many expressions of love that I have received during Ron's illness and his death. Your support has meant the world to me. Thank you especially to the Ken Nix Sunday School Class and our Pastors for helping me with Ron's Memorial service. The service was just as he would have wanted it to be. Please continue to remember us in your prayers as we learn to carry on without this wonderful man. —Myrna Smith
