Men’s and women’s basket- ball, soccer, swimming and diving, golf, tennis, track and eld and cross-country – along with women’s soball and volleyball – compete in the intercollegiate athletics’ Summit League. 130 countries are represented through the enrollment of 1,364 international students. 400 IUPUI students participate in study- abroad programs each year. “24” is the median age of an IUPUI student. 56.4 percent of IUPUI students are women. 345 student-run campus organizations are registered with e Oce of Student Involvement. ese groups represent interests ranging from academics, civic engagement and volunteer ser- vice to honor societies, cultural communities and performance and recreation groups. 90,000 hours of volunteer work are logged each year by students, faculty and sta. 15 fraternities and sororities are active on campus. With 400 student members, “Greek life” currently involves only two percent of the student population, but is on the rise. 1,200 active duty and veteran military students study at IUPUI each academic year. ese students receive administrative guidance from the Oce for Veterans and Military Personnel and peer sup- port from the Veterans@IUPUI student organization. 86 millions dollars are awarded to gied and needy IUPUI students – about 47% of the enrollment – through nancial aid and scholarships. 44 percent of incoming freshman graduated among the top quartile of their high school class. 1,338,889 volumes of books are held within the libraries at IUPUI. 650 free prints are available to stu- dents each semester with the swipe of their JagTag at printers around campus. 12 world records have been broken at the IU Natatorium. Considered to be one of the fastest pools in the world, anyone with a valid JagTag can use it for free through Sept. 2.
