We need your photos! We will be posting the site to send your photos of school events:

sports, parties, concerts, and plain, everyday pictures!

At recess, it’s mud. In the lunchroom, it’s chocolate milk. At other times, it’s “I couldn’t make it to the bathroom in time!” For those occasions, in order to avoid breaking into your busy day by calling you to bring clean clothing, we keep extra clothes on hand for students in need. We’ve had a rather ex-cessive demand for clothing this year, and our stash is running low! We ask you to help by washing and sending back any clothing your child may have borrowed during the school day. For the same reasons, we could really use underwear—both girls’ and boys’, in all sizes—and child-sized socks. For that matter, the next time you give clothes for the Swap Shop, diverting a couple of uniform pants and shirts in sizes 6 to 12 to the office would make us

Cough Drops: Unless your child requires a certain kind, please do not send cough drops to school unless they can be shared. We try to keep an adequate supply on hand for all students. Excess amounts are difficult to store and may become outdated before they are used.

Please do not bring your child to school if he or she has a temperature of 100 degrees or higher, even if medication will lower it temporarily. This is for the protection of both your child and his/her classmates. On the other hand, your child may get sick at school. Sometimes medication can help with a simple headache or tummy ache, but if he or she is throwing up or has a temperature of 100 degrees or higher, we will call you to arrange a pickup as soon as

possible. Your child should not return to school until the sickness is over and temperature has been normal for 24 hours WITHOUT medication.

Only the office staff may administer medication and no medication, including cough drops, A&D ointment, or sunscreen, can be administered without your express permission for us to do so. We can call for your permis-sion for each incident, or you may choose to sign a form to place in your child’s medical file that gives us permis-sion to administer your written choice of medication as needed. A copy of this form is available on request.

Welcome to Handbook Highlights! The entire handbook is available on Parents Web, under Re-source Documents, but we’ve chosen a few topics to highlight over the next several issues. After all, Knowledge is Power! This week ...When Your Child is Sick.

If your child requires medication, either OTC or pre-scription, during the school day, a signed parent per-mission form must be on file. ALL medications are to be kept at the Lobby Desk, not in the child’s posses-sion, without special permission from a medical pro-vider. This includes, but is not limited to, cough drops, sunscreen, cortisone cream, and allergy medications. Prescription medication or OTC medication provided by a parent must be in the original container.

If we suspect pinkeye , we will call you to pick up your child immediately. He or she may not return to school until either of these conditions has been treated by a health professional. This is to protect your child and the other children in the classroom.

MEDICATIONS: The following OTC medications are kept on hand for student use:

Children’s liquid and chewable tablets Ibuprophen (Motrin, Advil or generic brand) Children’s liquid and chewable tablets acetaminophen (Tylenol or generic brand) Cough drops (Luden’s , Hall’s, or generic brand) TUMS and Hyland’s 4Kids for tummy upsets and aches A&D ointment and Vaseline for itchy skin, bug bites, chapped lips, etc.)

Important: In order to attend school events such as after school clubs,

sports, social events or concerts, your child must have been in attendance at school for at least half of that school day.

Back by popular demand, it’s the return of “Eat Lunch With Your Child Month”!

Beginning in January with the 4th and 5th Grades, we would like to invite you to come eat lunch with your child on a special Parent Day. Specific dates are posted below. On this day,

parents of a specific Grade are invited to join their child for lunch in Kirk Hall. Each Grade will have a designated Month through the end of the school year. You can order an extra meal for yourself on Parents Web for that specific day when you place your regular order, or you can

Happy Birthday Jesus Layette Project The Happy Birthday Jesus Project is a project in giving that has real results right here in the community. The Health Department nurses bring our layettes along on wellness visits so they can not only provide for needs but also educate new parents on how to take care of their little one. Below is a list of items that are provided in a typical layette. Layette collection box-es are in the Welcome Center and near Kirk Hall. This project continues year-round.

A Layette Includes:

Diapers (sizes NB, 1 & 2)

Wipes, new or gently used sleepers, onesies, clothing

Receiving and other blankets, bibs, towels and washcloths

Socks and mittens, baby wash, bottles, pacifiers

Infant toys (rattles, teethers, stuffed animals, etc.)

Are you looking for a Christmas Giving project for your family? How about one of these loving lessons in giving to others?

Central College Presbyterian Church 2019 Adopt-A-Child Ministry

CCPC is looking to provide Christmas gifts for a total of 475 children this Holiday Season.

Dates for Selection: November 18 through December 1. Choose a child from the boards dis-played in the hallway by the preschool. Boards will include details about each child, including first name, age, interest, gift requests, etc., and detailed instructions for purchasing gifts and returning them to the church.

Gifts should be returned to the church no latter than December 8. Questions? Contact CCPC Deacons & Committee Co-Chairs:

Vick Schmarr @ 614.794.0771 or Cheryl Wilson as 614.598.0887

You should give then, as you have decided, not with regret or out of a sense of duty, for God loves the one who gives gladly.
