What is Digital Citizenship?

It is teaching the youth of today’s technological society how to use technology appropriately and responsibly Included in that is use of social media,
internet, texting, phone calls, watching tv, and any other form of communication that is web based
Classroom Rules for Cell phones

A red card on the wall means NO TECHNOLOGY in plain site
A green card on the wall means TECHNOLOGY should be used on the assignment.
This means okay
This means not okay
Consequences:1st- warning2nd- take phone up, give back end of class3rd- Parent must come get phone4th- referral

* Anything you post, say or act out can and will be used against you in a court of law
Email/Internet Safety

Do not share email with people you don’t know ( including signing up for things on the Internet)
Do not share your password, and make password difficult for others to know
Do not save passwords on the computer, especially on a public computer
Delete all emails permanently that are from people you don’t know or recognize
Regularly check spam and delete unrecognized emails, also may be able to block
Careful what websites you go to, malicious content can be placed on computer Cookies, cache, history should be cleaned regularly
