Stairs and landings are

Alternatively they can be

Hanson provides a comprehensiverange of adjustable standard moulds for staircases and landingscapable of meeting the requirementsof most projects.

However, where a standard mould is notsuitable, a comprehensive bespokedesign and manufacturing service isavailable.

Hanson’s design team will ensure thatthe structural performance of thecomponents being supplied meet allcurrent design standards.

Ensuring that the general layout anddetailing of the staircase configurationsatisfies current Building Regulations isthe responsibility of the project architector designer.

Each pre-cast concrete staircase is

individually designed and manufactured

to meet the specific requirements of

each project and our in-house design

team is on hand to provide further

guidance and information where

required.

Straight flights with cross landingsSimple and cost-effective solutionwhere side support is available for both main and half landings.

Provides shorter spans which reduce

thickness and weight providing for

easier handling, transportation and

installation.

Components are cast in standard

moulds and transported flat.

Landings can be built-in as the

structure progresses.

Stair finish

All stair components are manufactured in

grey concrete and have ex mould Type A

finish in accordance with BS8110

Flights with integral topand/or bottom landingsIdeal option for steel-framedbuildings or where there is apreference for fewer crane liftsand components.

In steel framed buildings installation

is normally undertaken prior to the

construction of brick/block work.

Design is particularly suitable foruse around lift shafts or wherethere is a requirement for moreresting positions for user (eg hospitals, care homes etc).

supports, end supports or continuous.

Precast winding staircaseAvailable in L or U shapedconfigurations, including windersat each turn. This type of staireliminates the need for halflandings.

It can be easily installed as the

building progresses using adjustable

support brackets which are located in

pre-designed openings in the stairwell.

The winding staircase offers inherent

fire insulation and a high level of sound

insulation – particular when used in

combination with Hanson pre-cast

floors at upper levels.

All stair components are manufactured in

grey concrete and have ex mould Type A

finish in accordance with BS8110

Adjustable support brackets

Staircases and landings are

produced at two of the plants –

Hoveringham (near Nottingham)

and Somercotes (Derbyshire).

The facilities are equipped with a wide

range of standard moulds, capable of

meeting most requirements, but also

have skilled personnel on-site capable

of producing complete bespoke

solutions where required.

All staircases and landings are produced

to order and can be manufactured in

advance of requirement and held in

storage ready for delivery to site

precisely when needed.

accordance with relevant British/

European/Trade Association Standards.

All Hanson Building Products sites are

quality assured to BSEN ISO9001 2000
