Legislation Number: PR 21-307, the “McMillan Townhomes, Commercial, and Multifamily
Parcels Disposition Extension Approval Resolution of 2015” with 5 in favor, 2 opposed, and 1
abstained to support the Mayor’s resolution to extend the deadline to dispose of the McMillan
Site from December 2, 2016 to December 2, 2021; Resolution Number R21-0253 Effective
from Nov 3, 2015; Council’s Current Status Approved
Bill 21-336, on the “Closing of Franklin, Evarts, Douglas Streets NW in Square 3128, S.O. 13-
09432, Act of 2015” with 8 in favor, 0 opposed, and 0 abstained to support the proposed closing
of Franklin, Evarts, and Douglas Streets adjacent to Square 3128; Additional Info: BILL
SUMMARY - This bill closes public streets in Square 3128, bounded by 1st Street, N.W., to the
west, Michigan Avenue, N.W., to the north, North Capitol Street, N.W., to the east, and
Channing Street, N.W., to the south in Ward 5. Council’s Current Status Approved.

Harry Teeter’s grocery with an ANC5E vote of 6 in favor, 0 opposed and 2 abstained in support of the
modifications to accommodate the grocery’s request. Notice of Public Hearing not presented as of
December’s “News to Use” date.
15DEC3 TRAFFIC ADVISORY: National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
The National Christmas Tree Lighting (Pageant of Peace Ceremony) will take place in the
District of Columbia. In conjunction with this event, there will be several street closures that
motorists should take into consideration: The street closure site set-up for the National
Christmas Tree Lighting will be from 2:00 pm until approximately 9:00 pm. The streets
closed to traffic will be 15th
Street and 17th
Streets, between Constitution Avenue, and New York
Avenue, N.W.
The Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia and the United States Park
Police will put the following street closures affecting vehicular traffic into effect on December
3, 2015, at 2:00 pm. The street closures will be lifted when the event has concluded. The
closures as a result of the event are as follows:

15DEC5 The Neighborhood Tree Lighting Event from 5-7PM @Rhode Island Row, 2300 Washington
Place, NE. Rhode Island Row proudly supports the WPGC Coat Drive from 10AM-7PM. Donate a

15DEC7 Stronghold Civic Association will meet at Shade’s Inspired Teaching Charter School from
6:30PM-9PM; located at the corner of Douglas and Lincoln Road NE. POC: Ms. Laura Jackson,

15DEC10 MAG (McMillan Advisory Group) Meeting – In 2006, the (MAG) was formed by the National
Capitol Revitalization Corporation (NCRC) as an unincorporated non‐profit group to serve as
forum to represent concerns of residents and the community’s as they relate to the development
of the McMillan Sand Filtration Site. Today, this group is now overseen by the Office of the
Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED). It is made up of Ward 1 &
5 community representatives from community groups and civic associations. MAG meets on the
2nd
Thursday of each month from 7PM – 8:30PM; at the Summit, 116 T St NE across from the
Langley Elementary School. This meeting is open to the public.
15DEC15 ANC5E Public Meeting, held at Trinity University from 7PM – 9PM; Location: corner of Michigan
Avenue and Franklin St NE (125 Michigan Avenue NE); an agenda will follow prior to the meeting.
15DEC17 5D Citizen Advisory Council’s Meeting - 7PM – 8:30PM, Rhode Island Avenue Center, 680
Rhode Island Avenue NE. 15DEC21Bloomingdale Civic Association (BCA) will meet at St
George’s (2nd
and U Streets NW) from 7PM – 9PM. BCA meets every 3rd
