An Epistle from Paul:How Well Do We Know Ourselves?! – I remember watching a football game and hearing one of the commentators say of a quarterback being brought into the game: “This guy has great potential… He’s cocky and really knows himself.” That got me to thinking and in the process of thinking this through I found this test. Take this test and see if you don’t help

If you were like me you missed some of these. I’m reasonably sure that if this replacement quarterback took this test he too would miss a few. Here then is my point – the world’s idea of “knowing one’s self” contradicts God’s idea of knowing ourselves. James 1:22-23 makes clear His Word is our means of our knowing just what kind of a person we really are… By the way, this quarterback who was “cocky and knew himself” threw an interception and his team was beaten badly!
