Welcome to the 7th issue of !NMOTION.
It is amazing how fast the year has gone by and we are already past the mid-year mark!
WCT Group had a busy and fruitful first half of the year. In construction, WCT was awarded the Gold Award by the KLCC Group of Companies and WCT Land, the property development arm of WCT launched the much anticipated 1Medini Garden Villas, Iskandar Malaysia to potential investors in Singapore.
In May, WCT enjoyed a double celebration when the Group’s third retail project, gateway@klia2 finally opened its door to the public on 2 May 2014 and Paradigm Mall celebrated its second birthday on 23 May 2014.
Also, WCT successfully sealed its partnership with AirAsia BIG through the WCT-AirAsia BIG Joint Loyalty Programme. Learn more about the Joint Loyalty Programme in this issue.
In our special feature, we share WCT’s world-class engineering capabilities through an interesting photo journal on some of the Group’s on-going local and international projects. We also dedicate this issue to the colourful and festive Hari Raya celebrations with some interesting ideas on how you can brighten up your home to welcome your favourite guests.

3Première HotelSupports 207th Police Day25 March 2014In celebration of the 207th Police Day, Première Hotel presented a cake made in the form of the Royal Malaysia Police emblem during the celebrations at the Klang District Police headquarters.
4 In conjunction with the Easter Sunday celebrations, guests of Première Hotel enjoyed an afternoon of Buffet Hi-Tea at The Buzz. Creative games and drawing contests were organised to keep the children entertained throughout the event.

Malaysia’s magazine publishing house, iN Publishers organised the inaugural Paradigm iN Living event at Paradigm Mall recently. The premier home living exhibition featured the latest home furnishing products and décor accessories. Proud home owners who visited the exhibition returned home inspired and armed with fresh home improvement ideas.

6 Paradigm Mall Draws the Young Active Crowd
Paradigm Mall remains one of the preferred shopping destinations in Klang Valley. It had set a new record by attracting over 16 million visitors in 2013 since its opening in May 2012. Apart from an exciting line-up of retail brands and food & beverage outlets, the various shopping campaigns and events held at the mall proved to be a big crowd puller.
24 May 2014Paradigm Mall and Première Hotel were the proud sponsors of Astro Battleground 2014 and Asia Battleground 2014 - Astro’s most competitive dance reality television series that features dance crews from all over Asia. The official launch and auditions were held at Boulevard, Paradigm Mall. The event saw a strong international presence with judges hailing from Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Philippines and Taiwan.
April & May 2014Paradigm Mall is the Official Partner of the Malaysia Invasion Mixed Martial Art Fighting Championship 2014. This event, in its second year running, serves as a great platform for amateur mixed martial art talents to hone their skills.
25 to 27 April 2014The Biggest International Street Dance Festival in Malaysia was held at the Boulevard, Paradigm Mall. Famous dance choreographers from U.S.A, Korea, Japan, Canada, Germany and DJs from Singapore and Malaysia conducted dance workshops at the event.
26 April 2014As part of the promotional event for Wellness On The Go 2 programme, Hong Kong TVB Stars Ruco Chan, Oscar Leung, Sharon Chan and Benjamin Yuen made an appearance at Paradigm Mall recently. The stars took the opportunity to promote the health benefits of exercise and physical activities.

One week before the official opening day of klia2, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) and WCT Holdings Berhad invited a group of analysts and investors to the klia2 Investor Day. The attendees were given a tour of WCT Group’s integrated complex, gateway@klia2 and the international airport hub, klia2.
The event was graciously hosted by MAHB’s Head of Investor Relations, Ms. Vinie Chong and co-hosted by WCT’s General Manager – Shopping Complex, Mr. Ben Chong.
8 World Class Mall Opens in klia22 May 2014
WCT’s newest mall, gateway@klia2 opens its door to the public. Located between the drop-off point and the Main Airport Terminal, the 350,000 square feet airport-within-a-mall concept is open 24-hours a day. gateway@klia2 offers over 54 food & beverage outlets, 41 retail brands and 20 services & speciality stores. The mall is fully equipped with the Flight Information Display System (FIDS) to remind travellers about their flight times while shopping at the mall.

12 Première Hotel Presents First Ever Cycling Event25 May 2014
The inaugural Klang Première Century Ride (KPCR) event proved to be a hit among cyclists, with over 1,400 cyclists participating in the event. The event, jointly organised by Première Hotel Klang, sports organiser TriSportz Event Management and ALT Advantage, in collaboration with Police Diraja Malaysia was divided into two distances; the Century Ride – 108km and the Fun Ride – 18km. The Century Ride event saw Mr. Azhar Zalaily and Ms. Jenny Loh emerging as Champion in the Men’s and Women’s Open category respectively while Mr. Muhd Hafiz Wong Bin Abdullah finished first in the Men’s Veteran Category.

Blood Donation Drive at Paradigm Mall & Première Hotel8 & 28 April 2014
In the month of April, Paradigm Mall and Première Hotel collaborated with University Malaya Medical Centre, Kuala Lumpur and Tengku Ampuan Rahimah, Klang Hospital respectively to hold a blood donation drive. The one-day blood donation drive aims to gather donors and increase the country’s blood bank levels. Members of the public and employees took their time off to participate in this meaningful community initiative.
WCT Reaches Out to the Community with WCT KIDSS3 May 2014
WCT launched the second WCT KIDSS programme after a successful 2013, with over 300 children in OUG, Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam and Klang benefiting from this corporate social responsibility initiative.
The free weekly programme, in partnership with Frenz United Soccer School and All Star Basketball Academy; aims to give local school children between the ages of 9 to 12 years old the opportunities to grow through team sports such as football and basketball, learning WCT’s core values – Winning, Commitment, Teamwork, Humility and Respect, developing athletic skills and being actively engaged.

WCT Group is no stranger to the engineering and construction industry and with an excellent track record of three excellent decades in the industry.
To date, WCT has worked on a wide-range of local and international projects that has cut across a broad spectrum of the industries, including civil works, construction of expressways and highways, F1 racing circuits, airports, dams and water supply schemes, buildings and interior fit-out works.

WCT has a strong portfolio in constructing numerous government buildings in Putrajaya, the Federal Government Administrative Centre of Malaysia, such as the Ministry of Trade and Consumer Affairs (Lot 2G3) and the Ministry of Information Communication and Culture (Lot 4G9), among others.
In 2010, WCT took its expertise to the next level when the Government of the State of Qatar awarded WCT with a contract to construct, complete and maintain a Government Ministry Complex in Qatar. The complex is constructed with high quality finishing and meets international quality assurance and quality control standards.
The team have made good progress at the project site to date. The structural works have been substantially completed at the Main Building and Public Wing Building, while final works are being carried out for the Multi Storey Car Park building.

Artist’s Impression of the Government Ministry Complex

In early 2012, WCT secured a RM300 million contract to design and build the headquarters of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) on Jalan Khidmat Usaha, Kuala Lumpur.
This project consists of a 31-storey office tower, a two-storey carpark and a three-storey podium. The building is designed to comply with the Green Buildings Index (GBI) Gold Rating and is subjected to the QLASSIC Quality Assessment System for building construction works.
As at end of May 2014, the superstructure works is 71% completed and the architectural, mechanical & electrical works and façade works are well on track. The construction is expected to complete by 1Q 2015.

Since the early years, WCT has specialised in earthworks and its core business, engineering and infrastructural works remains at the forefront of the Group’s business.
WCT’s latest project, the RM391 million Fourth Lane Widening Project between Nilai (KM 280.4) and Seremban (KM 258.5) involves the widening of the existing dual 3-lane expressway to a dual 4-lane expressway for the South and North bound traffic.
As at early May 2014, the team have started the pavement works for the New Emergency Lane and New Slow Lane for the South Bound traffic. The targeted completion date for the South and North bound traffic between Nilai and Seremban is January 2015.
Moving forward, WCT will continue to strengthen its existing construction market presence in Malaysia and the Gulf States by leveraging on the Group’s 33 years of Engineering & Construction track record in iconic projects.
