A Facebook account has been set up for the Auxiliary, you don’t have to be an Auxiliary member to join and keep up with our activities. To be added, you can send me a request under my personal Facebook or on the page: AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary 422-Fanning Springs, FL. It’s that time of year for our Annual School Supply Drive. We first donate these supplies to children related to our Post members and those children who have assisted throughout the year, then we donate to Old Town Elementary School. If you can make a donation towards the purchase of these supplies or can bring in any type of school supplies, they are greatly needed and appreciated. A donation box and envelopes for donation of money are located in the Canteen. We need these ASAP but no later than AUGUST 10 th . Thank you to our AMVETS group for your generous donation provided to assist in the purchase of supplies! On August 16 th , any Ladies interested in forming an Auxiliary District for our local area are invited to attend a discussion at Post 88 in Bronson at 1 PM. Forming a District will provide a liaison between our locals and State and allow us to attend State Training sessions, etc. through the info the District President receives. We are in early stages of planning a benefit for the Rippy Family on Oct. 17 th with a band, Poker Run, food, raffles and prizes. We will keep you updated. They are part of our AMVETS 422 family. POST 422 – YOU ALWAYS ROCK AND ARE NUMBER 1! COMMANDER’S MESSAGE- Lee Layne, Commander I hope everyone enjoyed your July 4 th /Anniversary Party. There were plenty of good eats and everyone enjoyed visiting with one another. AMVETS, you will find your renewal forms in this issue and you must be renewed by August 31 st or you will lose your Post privileges. Please fill this out and return to the Post or Cassis Journigan ASAP. Myself, Eric Daniels and Joe Oxendine will be attending the National Convention in Birmingham this month. We will be bringing back any new information to you at our meeting in September. We will be discussion and voting on a new Smoke Eater system for the Post. Please come out and vote on this important expenditure of Post funds. AUGUST 8TH MEMBER APPRECIATION DAYOn Saturday, August 8, 2015 from 1PM to 4PM, all Post Members are invited to enjoy a free BBQ Sandwich, chips and soda at no charge. Just show your Member Card. It’s just our way of saying Thank You to our service men and women for their sacrifice, dedication to our flag, nation and service. Come on out and enjoy the eats. Visitors may receive a meal for a $4 donation.

It’s dues time! Annual member dues of $35.00 must be paid by August 31st for your privileges to remain current. Do not send dues to National or State and do not pay online. DISTRICT XVI FUNDRAISER

District XVI is raffling off an Asus 15.6” Laptop Computer. Tickets are $2 each and are available in the canteen. Only 500 tickets will be sold. Drawing will be held August 16, 2015 at the District Meeting at Post 88 in Bronson.

The Fanning Springs Movie in the Park This time the movie is “HOME”When Earth is taken over by the overly-confident Boov, an alien race in search of a new place to call home, all humans are promptly relocated, while all Boov get busy reorganizing the planet.

Come out and bring your kids, your Grandkids the neighbors kids or be a kid yourself. The Post and Ladies Auxiliary are sponsors of this great event, so come out and join us August 14 at Fort Fanning Park. Movie begins at sunset.
