Term in ReviewIt took 16 days short of 2 yearsbefore our first group started on a

University campus. Looking back we realize that during that time

the Lord was establishing something that was much bigger thanourselves. The ministry that He had for Costa Rica was truly in

His hands. Now, 4 years later there is a thriving University

ministry in Costa Rica that is reaching, discipling, and training

young people to be ministers not only on campus, but in the

workplace and the world. One thing we stress with our leaders is

not how big their group can get or how many campuses are

represented in the U ministry, but how deeply we love.

Over the past 4 years we have found ways to partner with the

national church, local churches, on-campus work programs,Christian and public schools, community outreaches, building

projects, indigenous tribes, and kids. We have covered every

province more than once. We spent the majority of our time

building relationship, sharing Christ, and just loving on people

As we prepare for furlough we leave with mixed feelings. We love

Costa Rica and we love the people. However we look forward to

spending time with family, sharing what God has done, and

sharing the plans He is laying out for our next term.

Looking Ahead / 3rdtermLate in December 2012, April and I sat down with

another missionary couple in Dallas, TX after a missions

conference. We began to brainstorm the need to create a

network among those of us who are doing Universityministry in Latin America. At that point only 7 of 21

countries had a U ministry of some type. Costa Rica is

the only country in Central America that has a national

University ministry. From the beginning we have stressed

to our leaders how we all play a part of Gods global plan

and what we start here as no limits nor boundaries. Little

did we know that in the following 1.5 years since that

meeting in TX that we would develop a training manual

to help guide along new missionaries who have nowplanted a similar ministry in 3 other countries. The

Lord has laid it on our hearts to continue to expand the

ministry in Costa Rica and begin to target the other 6

Central Americacountriesthat have no U ministry. The

students that are studying today will be leaders tomorrow

in all walks of life. Our window of time to reach them is

small but the potential impact is large.

To get the University Network or Red Universitaria off

the ground and running we need to raise $50,000 for

project funds. These funds will allow us to host

workshops and conferences in other countries with our

leadership team to help strategize and develop a U

ministry in those countries. We need your help in 3 areas.

    1. Prayer is always at the forefront. Would you

    consider joining our prayer team?

    2. We need to raise additional funds for livingoverseas. We are looking for new monthly

    partners and/or special financial gifts.

    3. We need to raise project funds to get the University

    Network going.

Please visit our website: www.amiotfamily.organd click

on the link Partner with us. There you will find ways to

join our prayer team and make donations. Thank you!
