DAY 9. SUNDAY • PLITVICE LAKESWe give you a full day in this beautiful location,another UNESCO World Heritage site. This naturalwonder consists of 16 terraced lakes in a setting ofthickly wooded forests and lush vegetation. In themorning, take a walking tour around several of thelower lakes. The balance of the day is yours to enjoythis unique spot with its one-of-a-kind, breath-taking scenery. (B,D)

DAY 11. MONDAY • PLITVICE - OPATIJA - BLEDIt’s a full day of scenic mementos, as we drive norththrough Croatia into Slovenia. We are headed to theresort town of Bled. En route we visit the beautifulbay of Kvarner and Opatija, a popular resort town,once the playground of European royalty. (B,D)

DAY 12. TUESDAY • BLED - LJUBLJANA - BLEDBled is a sightseer’s dream: Bled Castle, perched high

atop a cliff overlooking Lake Bled, the lakeshore driveand the old church on a small island in the middle of the lake, with its superb collection of religious art. We interrupt our stay in this colorful spot to take aside-trip to Ljubljana, Slovenia’s capital city. Oursightseeing tour includes a visit to the open air market, City Hall, Robba’s Fountain, the Three Bridgesand the Parliament building. At the conclusion of thetour, we drive back to Bled. (B)

DAY 13. WEDNESDAY • BLED - VENICEWe leave Bled this morning, bound for themesmerizing charms of romantic, intriguing Venice,‘queen of the Adriatic.’ On the way, we visit theincredible underground world of the famous PostojnaCave. (B,D)
