• Peaches were first discoveredin China.

• Michigan peach crops equal $13million annually.

• One medium peach is only 37calories and is a great source ofvitamins A and C, and severalB vitamins.

• To speed up the ripening processof a peach, place it in a brownpaper bag for two to three days.

• The peach is part of the rosefamily.

• The pit of a peach is consideredpoisonous.

• Peaches are harvested duringJuly and August.

• To peel a peach, drop the peachin boiling water for one minute,then drop it in cold water. Thepeel will slide right off.
