Talking Turkey
For more than30 years, the expertsat the ButterballTurkey Talk-Linehave been at theready, answeringhome cooks’ holidayturkey-relatedquestions. Here’s ataste of some of thehotline’s mostmemorable inquiries:
A Talk-Line expertasked a caller whatstate her turkey wasin, meaning howthawed it was.The caller replied,“Florida.”
After finding aturkey from 1969 inhis father’s freezer,a man phoned inrequesting tips onhow to cook the30-year-old bird.
A woman calleddisappointed, wondering why herturkey had no breastmeat. The Butterballstaffer figured out thecaller’s turkey wasplaced upside downon the platter.
A man cut histurkey in half with achainsaw, thenwanted to know if thechain’s grease wouldaffect the turkey.
