I had been coming here for the past five summers and loved it, so I thought why not live here full time? This was my first winter here and I was amazed how many people are here year round and how much there is to do. Great decision. I miss seeing you all.” 1971 Peter Kfoury writes, “I am a board certi‐ fied chiropractic internist operating a holis‐ tic primary care office in Charleston, SC. I still play softball, middle eastern music, and jazz!” 1974 Debra Silberberg Finestone is a physician in the emergency room of St. Mary’s Hospital at McGill Teaching Hospital, and assistant professor of medicine at McGill University. She has been happily married to Shya for 25 years and is the proud mom of Leona (23), in medical school; Nathaniel (21), a political sciences major at McGill; and Hannah (18), studying to be a social worker. 1975 Sarah Stebbins Zepeda is back living in Chile, where she and her husband, Jose, lived from 1985‐1990. 1976 A salute, congratulations, and a huge thank you to Scott Rice who was promoted to Major General in the United States Air Force and Air National Guard on December 23, 2010, as the Commander of the Massachusetts Air National Guard and Assistant to the Commander USAF Europe. In Memoriam Rick Harding, former faculty member and coach, died Monday, March 14, 2011, shortly after being diagnosed with lung cancer. A beloved science teacher and crew coach at Derryfield for 15 years, “Doc” or “Ranger Rick,” as some students called him, was known for his enthusiasm, kindness, and his belief in the value of an individ- ual. He inspired a generation of out- doorsmen and scientists at Derry-field as well as at the other schools where he taught. During the last month of his life, a blog was created on which friends, family, and former students could post their well wishes and memo- ries. 1990James Richardson and his wife,Michelle, welcomed their second son,Tyler, to the world on November 28,2010. The house feels smaller buteveryone is healthy and happy.

1992Heather Newton Kyemba and herfamily battled a New England winterin their Huntsville, AL, home.“Although we live in the Heart ofDixie, we had a white Christmas andfour snow storms this year. Ourdaughter had six snow days at herschool! Alabama cities don’t own manysnow plows.”

1996Matt Melkonian is currently living inBurlington, VT, and working for EcolabKay Chemical in Vermont, westernNew Hampshire, and northern NewYork.

1997Congratulations to Emily Newick andher husband, Steve Gaughan. OnDecember 23, 2010, they added SarahNewick Gaughan, better known as“Sally,” to their family. Everyone ishappy and healthy! n Matt Purtelland his wife, Stephanie, are the proudparents of their first child. WestonGeorge Purtell was born on January 31,2011. Congratulations to all!

1998Liz Stefany tells us, “I’m happily liv‐ing in Carrabassett Valley, ME, andenjoying many fun jobs and careers.My two main endeavors are as a jeweler(www.cvjewelry.com) and massagetherapist (www.equinoxtherapeutic‐massage.com). My newest job is one I can directly thank Derryfield forstarting—I am the assistant women’slacrosse coach at the University ofMaine at Farmington. This is theirthird season and I’m having a blasthelping them improve. It was also

great to have a snowshoe adventurethis winter with Kathleen Rutty‐Fey’87!” n Congratulations to SaraBrennan Adams and her husband onthe birth of their daughter. MargaretAnn joined big sister Sydney to make ita family of four on March 29, 2010.

1999We hear from Ditty Steele Bannon,“Chad and I are moving to Salt LakeCity this coming Monday, March 14. Iwill be starting an ICU Fellowship atthe University of Utah the first week ofApril. Chad starts Physician Assistantschool in May at the University ofUtah. We are very excited about ournew home and look forward to havinga guest room to host visitors!”

He and his brideof less than a year, Tarah, are living inBoston. n Rebecca Rideout writes,“I’m working as a video producer atMonadnock Media in Sunderland, MA.Since my last update, my boyfriend often years and I got engaged! We alsogot a dog, and are living in our homein Greenfield, MA. I am finally draw‐ing on my writing aspirations fromhigh school and getting published in afew magazines, the most recent one ofnote was Yankee Magazine in the March2011 issue. Although I missed thereunion, I’d love to be in touch witheveryone!”

2001Back from Zambia, Emily Learner isliving in Washington, DC, and workingwith the Elizabeth Glaser PediatricsAIDS Foundation as a laboratory tech‐nical advisor. “I work with twelvecountries in Africa, and also China andIndia and help them improve theirclinical labs and public health lab sys‐tems. I’ve been in this job for about sixmonths now and it is great so far. I getto travel to Africa every few months,so I’m seeing lots of places and thingsthat I never thought I would see.”

2002Taylor Breed’s mom tells us thatTaylor is studying for his MBA atGeorgetown and living in Washington,DC. He will be working in New YorkCity this summer. n Jamie Feinbergreports, “A quick update on me wouldbe that I’ve started my own profession‐al theater company, Not Your Mom’sMusical Theater, here in Manchester.We’ve already had a few criticallyacclaimed productions, led a day‐longresidency at a local high school (thanksto a grant), and we’re raising funds totake a show to the Boston area in June.Visit our website to check out thevideo blogs!”

2003Ben Bradley is living in San Francisco,practicing architecture, and consideringfurther educational opportunities.

2004Drew Moerlein announces his role in a10‐minute short film called Yearbookbeing screened at Sundance FilmFestival. It is a 70’s Sex and Drugs/Horror flick about an aggressive STDthat is making its way around the stu‐dents in Rockdale High School.According to Drew, “‘The Bug’ mani‐fests itself in different physical defor‐mities: bulging forehead, hives/pim‐ples around the eyes, tails, horns, rash‐es, claw hands, etc., which were allachieved with incredible prostheticparts. The make‐up and special effectsteams were incredible!” Yearbookscreened in Sundance at the end ofJanuary 2011. n After two years of living and teaching English in Frenchelementary schools, Julia Spiegelmanhas decided to stay in Europe butswitch to a new language. She writes,“I’m living in Berlin for the year, whereI’m working as an au pair, playing lotsof music (just had an exciting orches‐tral gig in the Philharmonic, and haveanother one next week!), and generallyhaving as many linguistic and culturalexperiences as possible.”

2008Congratulations to Kelly Schwarz onreceiving the 2011 Genentech ProcessResearch & Development OutstandingStudent Award at Johns HopkinsUniversity! Kelly is a junior under‐graduate in the department and also

plays varsity field hockey for Hopkins.The Genentech PR&D Student Awardswere founded to recognize outstandingstudents in disciplines related to chem‐ical and biochemical engineering.

2009Bianca Nicolosi has become quiteinvolved on campus at Ithaca College.“I currently am promotions director ofmy college’s radio station, 92 WICB(www.wicb.org) and have two news‐casts and two DJ shifts a week. Oneshift is Tuesdays 4‐6 p.m. and the otheris a specialty show where all I play isBeatles music for two hours onSundays from noon‐2 p.m. It’s great.Besides radio, I have been reportingand helping with the television crewfor our tri‐weekly newscast and I amfarm out‐reach coordinator ofIntercambios, a Spanish club which wehelp native Spanish speakers learn

English as they help us improve ournew language. At home, I recentlyreceived a job as my town’s cable sta‐tion’s video editor. I plan on spendingmy summer helping them direct, pro‐duce and edit summer concerts as wellas returning to my summer job inManchester and Nashua.”

Former FacultyJennie Roberge writes, “I just had mythird daughter on December 17, 2010—Abie Lee Roberge (5 pounds, 10ounces). Anna and Elizabeth are inlove and we are all doing well. I amstill teaching high school math inGorham, NH, and am having a greatyear! We continue to be very blessed tohave family close by and had a greatholiday season.”
