How to ‘sound out’ or decode words: When encountering an unknown word, ask your child to point at it. Ask what the first letter is. 子女遇到生字,先請他們留意第一個英文字母 2. Ask your child what sound the letter makes and have them repeat it. 然後使他們嘗試重複拼出該字母的 發音 3. Break the word up into syllables (分音節) and ask your child to ‘sound out’ and clap each part.
