A Guide To Men’s Dress Shoes

The Formal pumps refer to formal shoes made for Black Tie events. They are made from shiny patent leather or suede leather. They are great alternatives to the Oxford shoes for formal wear.

The Derby is very similar to the Oxford shoe but the difference is in the lacing which is sewn outside the shoes. This style makes it less formal than the Oxfords. They are great to be worn with jeans, linen and semi-formal wear.

This is an elegant shoe style worn majorly for formal events and Black Tie Events. The most common colours are black and brown. Oxfords are great when paired with suits. Not particularly okay for semi formal or informal wear. Oxfords must always be worn with a pair of socks.

Dress boots are sleek, minimalis-tic and stylish. They can be worn as formal or informal wear de-pending on whether they are lace-up boots or Chelsea styled (with bands at the edges)

The Wingtip shoes refer to the cap toe that looks like wings stretching across the front of the shoe. Most wingtips are Derby shoes decorated with brogue leather. The Wingtips are great for Formal wear and semi formal wear. Today, two toned wing-tips are popular creating more style oppor-tunities.

Loafers are sometimes also known as slip-ons. They are very comfort-able and versatile. The Loafers are great for semi-formal to informal wear and come in several colours to

If anyone said braids were back, I will not agree and that’s because as far as I’m concerned, Braids were never out of vogue. Wearing braids is an African hair trend which sometimes has its popular season. Now ever since International Pop sensation Beyonce, stepped out in her side swept braided hair, she’s sent her fans gaga and ultimately on a trend train. Not missing out on this trend are our own celebrities: Actress Monalisa Chinda, Fashion designer Yvonne Nwosu (Vonne Couture) and media personality Toke Makinwa.

All kinds of mentally stimulating activities can keep your brain in good shape. Thus, keeping memory loss at bay. You should read a newspaper, solve some crossword puzzles and take alternate or new routes while driving. In fact, learning something new like a musical instrument can also be stimulating for your brain. You should always remember that brain is like any other part in your body. You have to keep it active to keep it healthy, so don’t frown at change, change is good.

According to most studies, people tend to forget things when their houses are cluttered or notes are not well-organized. You should always keep a journal and note down important appointments, events and tasks. Maintaining a calendar is always the best way to sharpen your memory. Try to limit your distractions. You should never tryto perform too many tasks at the same time, I’m not saying don’t multi task, but try to limit to maximum 3-4 things at the same time. SHOULD I STAY WITH MY BOSS OR GO WITH MY FRIEND?Dear Jerome,

My case is different. I am 38 and have been in a relationship with my married boss for 16 years. He has given me lots of opportunity in life and wants me to remain his mistress. But now, I want someone I can call my own and a child too.

Recently, I hooked up with an old friend of mine who also wants to get married. The problem is that he has nothing of his own and no job. He lives in my apartment and lives off me. He is excited about getting married to me but the dilemma now is I am in-between two men and wonder who to really stay with because, I love them both.

as a single parent. If this old friend of mine

as I have a child, I am cool. Who do you advise me to choose?

Personally, I believe you had already become a second wife all this while without admitting the fact. Sixteen years is a long time to be actively involved with someone and anyone at all romantically. You have built a life around and with your boss all this while and succeeded at it. I am sure if you write a book now on “How to Have a Long Lasting Romantic Relationship with Your Boss”, it will be a best seller!

However, just like every other woman who is within your age group, you are beginning to want more out of life. You are at that point where your life is becoming more important to you and you

to do things for yourself and meet your own real,

tired of always meeting the needs of everybody else but yours.

Do you know if you were legally married and building a home of yours with your husband, that you will still go through this phase? A phase when you want more out of life and want to be more

and ways of meeting them. It is also the time

circumstances and not by choice wants to go out

Therefore, as a woman, now, you want to be with someone who is ready to leave every other

making a decision between two men but also about you accepting the fact that you are going through some changes that all women go through within

need to be guided through it so it does not turn into crisis for you or you make mistakes you could have avoided.

Going back to those two men though, I am of the opinion that none of them wants you for you but what they get from you. Try and ask your boss to divorce his wife and marry you instead and you will hear the story of your life! Stop giving the “project”

you will realize that he is not excited about getting married to you but about everything that will also become his when he gets married to you.

and, trust me, you will know what should stay and what should go far away from your life.

KIDSI recently attended a family function where all the kids received

monetary gifts. Immediately, my kids gave me the money they received to deposit in their piggy bank. By the following day, some of the other kids had used all their money to buy sweets and drinks from the corner store down the road. I introduced the concept of a piggy bank to my kids from a very early age and as a result, whenever they receive monetary gifts, they always insist I deposit it in the piggy bank. Not once do I recall my kids asking me to give them their money to buy sweets or toys. On

Personally, I feel it is never too early to start teaching children about money. Once kids are able to talk, it is important to start introducing the concept of money, the value of money, how to manage money, how to make money as well as the importance of investing money.

Unfortunately, many of us were not taught by our parents and today

A polished person uses tone of voice to show respect and warmth for others. Smiling actually changes your tone of voice, giving it a more

you could begin a relationship

(business, personal, spiritual etc.) with persons that you have never met just because of the warmth and friendliness that they hear in your tone, probably, when you spoke to them over the phone.

Also, when people hear the sound of their own name, they feel valued and special. When you are talking to someone (especially in a business

Names are critical in any kind of relationship with people. It also makes room for comfort and relaxation with the person whose name is mentioned feeling accepted and appreciated.
