The Plot of Allie Finkle’s Rules for Girls: The New Girl is a young girl starting out at a new school getting to know new people. She faced challenges like any other student in school such as making hanging out with friends and having a bully. Her friendship with her friends helped her throughout the book face her challenges.
The theme for this book was friendship. No matter what was going on with Allie, her friends were there to see her through.
Allie’s journal of rules was first
started in her first book when Allie took a spatula and touched Mary
Kay’s uvula in her throat. These rules and more helped her with her life. Each book adds more rules as Allie learns life
lessons.
More Rules for the Rule Book for Girls
1. When Grandmother came to visit, Allie
added “A lady never raises her fist at another.”
2. When Rosemary tried to beat up Allie, her friends didn’t let her get beat up. That is when she made the rule “Friends and Queens don’t let each other get beat up.”
3. On her first day of school, Allie’s little brother wore a pirate costume and the fifth grade girls liked it. “If a bunch of fifth grade girls think your brother is cute, just go along with it.”
